Amatan è il robot mascotte dei protagonisti dell’anime Zendaman. E’ un piccolo robot con le fattezze di un treno come ad esempio la testa o la pancia. Svolge un ruolo prevalentemente comico ma è anche il responsabile delle manutenzioni dei mecha.

Amatan è realizzato in metallo e plastica, è alto circa 12 centimetri ed è stato commercializzato dalla Takatoku nel 1979.

Diecast molto dettagliato e nel complesso è abbastanza simile a quello dell’anime. Le braccia possono sia ruotare che piegarsi e al posto delle mani ha delle piccole tenaglie. Le gambe sono invece rigide, è però possibile ripiegarle facendogli assumere una posizione come se fosse seduto. Ruotando le gambe inoltre compare una rotellina in modo da poterlo far scorrere su superfici piane. Premendo un pulsante sulla testa si apre uno sportellino situato sulla pancia del robottino. All’interno è collocato un cannoncino sparamissili azionabile tramite il classico meccanismo a molla. Era venduto in box protetto da polistirolo assieme a dei missili in plastica (per il cannoncino) e ad un cataloghino.

Esattamente come su molti altri mezzi della serie Zendaman commercializzati dalla Takatoku, il box del robot Amatan ripresenta la stessa grafica su entrambi i lati. Le caratteristiche del robot  sono descritte quindi su uno dei due fianchi.

La serie dei diecast Zendamn complessivamente non è molto ricercata. Amatan pur essendo ben realizzato è abbastanza comune, mantiene da anni un prezzo abbastanza costante ma rimane un giocattolo di nicchia ricercato per lo più solo dagli amanti delle serie Time Bokan.

diecast and overall it is quite similar to the one in the anime. The arms can both rotate and bend and instead of hands it has small pincers. The legs are rigid, but it is possible to fold them making it assume a position as if it were sitting. By rotating the legs also appears a wheel so you can slide it on flat surfaces. By pressing a button on the head a small door opens located on the belly of the robot. Inside there is a missile -shooting cannon that can be operated via the classic spring mechanism. It was sold in a box protected by polystyrene together with some plastic missiles (for the cannon) and a catalog.

Just like on many other vehicles of the Zendaman series marketed by Takatoku , the Amatan robot box features the same graphics on both sides. The characteristics of the robot are therefore described on one of the two sides.

The diecast series Zendamn is not very sought after overall. Amatan, although well made, is quite common, has maintained a fairly constant price for years but remains a niche toy sought after mostly only by lovers of the Time Bokan series .
