Bryger is the robot protagonist of the anime. It is the first mecha from the “Super Robot J9” trilogy [the others are Baxinger (p.166) and Susaraiger (p.506)]. It is not an assembled robot, that is, it is not formed by the union of various mecha piloted by the protagonists, but is only transformable. Thanks to the “ Plama System” technology, it can in fact vary its appearance and size, becoming a car or a space jet when necessary.

Bryger was marketed by Takatoku in 1981. The diecast production related to this anime was high in fact the robot was made in different models and sizes. The one described in these pages is the largest version defined: Chohenkei (“Super Transformation ”).

Bryger è il robot protagonista dell’anime. Si tratta del primo mecha tratto dalla trilogia “Super Robot J9” [gli altri sono Baxinger (p.166) e Susaraiger (p.506)]. Non è un robot  assemblabile, non si forma cioè dall’unione di vari mecha pilotati dai protagonisti, ma è solamente trasformabile. Grazie alla tecnologia del “Plama System” puo infatti variare il suo aspetto e le sue dimensioni diventando all’occorrenza una macchina o un jet spaziale.

Bryger è stato  commercializzato dalla Takatoku nel 1981. La produzione diecast riferita a questo anime è stata elevata infatti il robot è stato realizzato in diversi modelli e dimensioni. Quella descritta in queste pagine è la versione più grande definita: Chohenkei (“Super Transformation”).

Bryger in questa versione trasformabile è un diecast abbastanza comune da trovare. Credo sia in quasi tutte le collezioni perchè in vetrina è in effetti molto bello da posizionare, ma questo ha fatto si che il suo prezzo sia sceso rispetto a qualche anno fa. Mantiene comunque una valutazione alta. 

Era venduto in un box molto grande con vetrinetta. Bryger è posizionato all’interno in modalità robot.  Non dispone di molte armi, sostanzialmente solo una spada ed una lancia che può impugnare. Il resto degli oggetti inclusi servono per poter far effettuare al robot due tipologie di trasformazioni: in automobile ed in Jet (in modo molto simile a come avveniva nell’anime). Le trasformazioni non sono particolarmente complicate ed il diecast non viene molto sollecitato, quindi non è soggetto a eccessiva usura. Il robot diventa sostanzialmente la parte centrale dei due mezzi, vengono poi aggiunti la parte frontale per convertirlo in jet o in macchina e gli eventuali scarichi laterali. Non dispone di meccanismi di sparo ad eccezione dei pugni.

Quando acquistate il Bryger non preoccupatevi se trovate due pugni uguali, Takatoku (forse per risparmiare) ha realizzato un solo stampo quindi entrambi i pugni sono sinistri.

Questa versione è stata commercializzata con due vetrinette interne di colore diverso, possono essere o nera oppure rossa (la nera è più comune). 

Versione Italiana:  Ceppi ratti

Molto rara da trovare è invece la versione commercializzata in box Italiano dalla ditta Ceppi Ratti durante gli anni 80.

Bryger in this transformable version is a fairly common diecast to find. I think it is in almost all collections because in the display case it is indeed very beautiful to place, but this has meant that its price has dropped compared to a few years ago. However, it maintains a high valuation.

It was sold in a very large box with a display case. Bryger is positioned inside in robot mode. He doesn't have many weapons, basically just a sword and a spear that he can hold. The rest of the objects included are used to make the robot perform two types of transformations: into a car and into a Jet (very similar to how it happened in the anime). The transformations are not particularly complicated and the diecast is not stressed a lot, so it is not subject to excessive wear. The robot basically becomes the central part of the two vehicles, then the front part is added to convert it into a jet or car and any side exhausts. It does not have shooting mechanisms except for the fists.

When you buy the Bryger don't worry if you find two identical fists, Takatoku (perhaps to save money) made only one mold so both fists are left.

This version was marketed with two internal display cases of different colors, they can be either black or red (black is more common).

Versione Italiana:  Ceppi ratti

Very rare to find, however, is the version marketed in an Italian box by the Ceppi Ratti company during the 80s.
