Gundam: L’Alba del Real Robot
Ambientata nell’anno 0079 dell’Universal Century, la saga di Mobile Suit Gundam narra la guerra d’indipendenza del Principato di Zeon contro la Federazione Terrestre. Al centro del conflitto troviamo il giovane Amuro Ray che, a bordo del prototipo RX-78-2 Gundam, guida la resistenza della corazzata White Base in un’epopea spaziale che ha ridefinito il genere mecha per realismo e drammaticità.
L’archivio di Robot Vintage approfondisce la storica produzione della ditta Clover del 1979, analizzando i pezzi che hanno dato il via al mito collezionistico di questa serie. Documentiamo i rarissimi modelli originali come il maestoso Gundam DX Combination Set, il G-Armor e le versioni ST (Standard), includendo i preziosi diecast dedicati al Gun Cannon e al Gun Tank. Un’analisi dettagliata è dedicata alla leggendaria White Base, considerata oggi un vero “Sacro Graal” per rarità, complessità e valore di mercato.

| GUNDAM – 43 PUNTATE – 1980 |
Gundam ha generato un franchise enorme, si tratta dell’anime che ha fatto da spartiacque creando un nuovo modo di fare animazione. La trama è molto complessa e particolareggiata. Questo sito non è la sede adatta per svilupparla tutta, mi limiterò solo a mettere un brevissimo riassunto della prima serie “Mobile Suit Gundam” dalla quale la ditta Clover ha realizzato una linea di diecast ancora oggi ricercatissima. La storia è ambientata nel futuro. A causa della sovrappopolazione i terrestri anno in parte abbandonato la Terra ed hanno colonizzato lo spazio creando delle colonie autonome ed autosufficienti. Nell’anno 0079 dell’Universal Century: Side 3, il gruppo di colonie più lontano dalla Terra, si è autonominato Principato di Zeon ed ha dichiarato la propria indipendenza, tentando di sottomettere con la forza tutte le altre isole spaziali. Scoppia così una guerra spaventosa con la Federazione Terrestre: i soli primi trenta giorni di combattimento causano circa 3 miliardi di vittime. Zeon è inizialmente avvantaggiato dall’uso di un rivoluzionario tipo di arma, il mobile suit, un robot corazzato di aspetto antropomorfo pilotato da un essere umano. Quando una squadra di mobile suit di Zeon in ricognizione, disobbedendo agli ordini ricevuti, attacca la colonia di Side 7, gli abitanti di quest’ultima vengono a conoscenza della risposta della Federazione a questa nuova arma: il mobile suit Gundam. Con l’aiuto dei soldati federali superstiti della corazzata da trasporto Base Bianca, l’equipaggio di profughi inizia un’avventura che porterà un pugno di loro a cambiare il corso della guerra. |

I diecast realizzati dalla Clover sono tutti ben progettati, si tratta in generale di un linea costosa da acquistare in particolare la White Base.
Attualmente i diecast della ditta CLOVER non sono ancora stati catalogati nell’ Enciclopedia dei Diecast. Il volume è in fase di realizzazione.

Con il termine “Mobile Suite” vengono catalogati vari mezzi robotici creati in serie per essere pilotati da militari ed utilizzati come armi in battaglia. Tra questi i più famosi, in quanto i simboli della lotta contro il principato di Zeon sono: Gundam, Gucannon e Guntak. |

La White Base è un incrociatore spaziale d’assalto progettato dalla federazione Terrestre e progettata appositamente per trasportare i mobile suit. Inizialmente la missione della Base Bianca era di passare su Side 7 e recuperare i tre prototipi di mobile suit: l’RX-75-4 Guntank, RX-77-2 Guncannon e RX-78-2 Gundam. ma la missione non andò a buon fine a causa dell’attacco compiuto dalle forze di Zeon. Una volta che la Federazione passa all’offensiva, la Base Bianca divenne il principale punto di forza nei piani di guerra della Federazione. |

Amuro Ray
Eroe della serie e pilota dell’RX-78 Gundam, Giovane asociale e chiuso,ha un’innata capacità nel pilotare macchine meccaniche pur non avemdo nessuna nozione o addestramento militare.
Hayato Kobayashi
Impavido e determinato, fisicamente esile, contrasta questa mancanza con un carattere forte. Hayato non ha mai esitato ad andare in battaglia nel debole Guntank.
Ruy Jose
Grande e goffo, Ryu fa da copilota del Guntank con Hayato Kobayashi.Morirà per salvare Amuro in una battaglia gloriosa tanto da meritarsi la promozione capitano postuma.
Bright Noa
Bright si è ritrovato ad essere il l’ufficiale sopravvissuto dal grado più elevato della White Base dopo l’attacco a sorpresa su Side 7. Grazie ad un carattere forte e deciso riesce ad imporsi come nuovo comandante della nave.
Kai Shiden
Kai ha sentimenti contrastanti nei confronti dell’Esercito Federale (non sopporta l’autorità). Diventa comunque un valido soldato alla guida del Guncannon. ,
Sayla Mass
Studentessa di medicina su Side 7, Sayla all’inizio è stata addetto alle comunicazioni della White Base, in seguito è divenuta pilota
Principato di Zeon
Nell’ottobre U.C. 0068 muore Zeon Zum Deikun, fondatore della prima nazione spaziale autonoma di Side 3 ed ideologo dell’indipendenza delle colonie. Poco meno di un anno dopo (15 agosto U.C. 0069) il suo successore Degwin Sodo Zabi proclama la nascita del Principato di Zeon, del quale si dichiara sovrano. Il nuovo governo si rivela ben presto una dittatura militare controllata dalla famiglia Zabi. Con questa guida, comincia a consolidare le proprie capacità belliche e si prepara ad una guerra d’indipendenza contro la Federazione.

Gundam has generated a huge franchise, it is the anime that has acted as a watershed creating a new way of doing animation. The plot is very complex and detailed. This site is not the right place to develop it all, I will limit myself to just putting a very brief summary of the first series “Mobile Suit Gundam” from which the Clover company has created a line of diecast still highly sought after today. The story is set in the future. Due to overpopulation, the Earthlings have partly abandoned Earth and have colonized space, creating autonomous and self-sufficient colonies. In the year 0079 of the Universal Century: Side 3, the group of colonies furthest from Earth, has called itself the Principality of Zeon and declared its independence, attempting to forcefully subjugate all the other space islands. Thus, a terrifying war with the Earth Federation breaks out: the first thirty days of fighting alone cause approximately 3 billion victims. Zeon is initially advantaged by the use of a revolutionary type of weapon, the mobile suit, an armored robot of anthropomorphic appearance piloted by a human being. When a team of Zeon mobile suits on reconnaissance, disobeying orders, attacks the colony of Side 7, the inhabitants of the latter learn of the Federation’s response to this new weapon: the mobile suit Gundam. With the help of the surviving Federal soldiers of the transport battleship White Base, the crew of refugees embarks on an adventure that will lead a handful of them to change the course of the war. |

The diecast models made by Clover are all well designed, in general it is an expensive line to purchase.
Currently the company’s diecasts CLOVER have not yet been catalogued in the Diecast Encyclopedia. The volume is in progress.

The White Base is a space cruiser designed by the Earth Federation and specifically designed to transport mobile suits. The White Base’s initial mission was to pass through Side 7 and retrieve the three prototype mobile suits: the RX-75-4 Guntank, RX-77-2 Guncannon, and RX-78-2 Gundam. However, the mission was aborted due to an attack by Zeon forces. Once the Federation went on the offensive, the White Base became the main point of strength in the Federation’s war plans. |

Amuro Ray
Hero of the series and pilot of the RX-78 Gundam, a young, antisocial and withdrawn man, he has an innate ability to pilot mechanical machines despite having no military knowledge or training.
Hayato Kobayashi
Fearless and determined, physically slim, he counteracts this shortcoming with a strong character. Hayato has never hesitated to go into battle in the weak Guntank .
Ruy Jose
Big and clumsy, Ryu co-pilots the Guntank with Hayato Kobayashi. He dies saving Amuro in a battle so glorious that he is posthumously promoted to captain.
Bright Noa
Bright found himself the highest-ranking surviving officer at White Base after the surprise attack on Side 7. Thanks to his strong and decisive character, he managed to establish himself as the ship’s new commander.
Kai Shiden
Kai has mixed feelings towards the Federal Army (he can’t stand authority). However, he becomes a capable soldier when he pilots the Guncannon.
Sayla Mass
A medical student on Side 7, Sayla initially served as a communications officer at White Base, later becoming a pilot.
Principato di Zeon
In October UC 0068, Zeon Zum Deikun, founder of the first autonomous space nation of Side 3 and ideologist of the independence of the colonies, dies. A little less than a year later (August 15, UC 0069), his successor Degwin Sodo Zabi proclaims the birth of the Principality of Zeon, of which he declares himself sovereign. The new government soon reveals itself to be a military dictatorship controlled by the Zabi family. With this leadership, it begins to consolidate its military capabilities and prepares for a war of independence against the Federation.
