Arbegas: Il Mito del Denjin Dimension e il Fascino del Chogokin Popy
L’universo dei robot vintage trova in Arbegas (spesso cercato dai fan anche come Albegas) uno dei suoi vertici creativi più affascinanti degli anni ’80. Prodotto dalla Toei Animation nel 1983, questo iconico “Dio Elettrico” ha conquistato intere generazioni grazie al suo rivoluzionario sistema di aggancio: il Denjin Dimension. A differenza di altri combiner dell’epoca, la triade composta dai robot Alfa (Nero), Beta (Blu) e Gamma (Rosso) offriva diverse configurazioni, rendendo ogni trasformazione un piccolo capolavoro di ingegneria.
Per i collezionisti di giocattoli d’epoca, il nome Arbegas è indissolubilmente legato alla Popy e al leggendario modello Chogokin GC-04. Questo pezzo in metallo pesante, con le sue verniciature brillanti e i meccanismi a scatto, rappresenta oggi un “must-have” assoluto, insieme alle varianti distribuite nel mercato occidentale sotto la linea Bandai Godaikin.

| ARBEGAS – 45 EPISODI – 1983 |
La serie si svolge in un ipotetico futuro, in cui la Terra deve fronteggiare la minaccia aliena dell’Impero dei Derinjer. A questo scopo il professorHotaru e la dottoressa Asabuki creano un robot componibile usando i prototipi creati per un concorso da tre giovani: Daisaku Enjoji, Tetsuya Jine la figlia del professor Hotaru, Mizuki. A questi vengono quindi affidati i tre robot, Alfa, Beta e Gamma (da qui il nome Aru-be-gasu, che in italiano avremmo chiamato Albegam usando le iniziali allo stesso modo) che possono combinarsi tra loro in sei diverse configurazioni, utilizzate per affrontare i nemici nelle diverse situazioni. Di queste, la più potente è la Denjin, che dà luogo al potente Dio Elettrico Arbegas. |

Il giocattolo venne distribuito dalla Popy nel 1983 come Albegas Dx in una scatola orizzontale recante l’immagine di tutte le configurazioni del robot su uno sfondo nero con una griglia verde. Dopo l’acquisizione della Popy da parte della Bandai il giocattolo fu commercializzato in una differente scatola verticale. Negli Stati Uniti fu importato dalla Matchbox, come parte della linea Voltron, in due versioni: scatola singola o maxi scatola verticale con tutti e tre i robot inclusi, simile all’edizione Bandai, ma senza la spada Sambai.

Daisaku Enjoji
Uno dei tre giovani piloti di Arbegas; ragazzo molto estroverso e a volte un po’ immaturo può essere considerato il leader del gruppo.
Tetsuya Jin
Altro membro dei piloti di Arbegas; tipo molto serio e attaccabrighe che nel corso della serie si innamora della figlia del generale Dari.
Hotaru Mizuki
L’unica ragazza tra i piloti di Arbegas; è la figlia del Prof. Mizuki, è una studentessa modello e anche una brava tennista.

È lo scienziato che ha progettato e costruito il Dio Elettrico Arbegas ed è anche il padre di Hotaru; alla fine della storia si sposa con la sua assistente Saeko.

Goro
Goffo ragazzo che pilota anche lui un robot chiamato “Gori robot”; è innamorato (non corrisposto) di Hotaru.
Grande Deran
È il capo supremo dei derinjer; è lui che ha dato vita a tutti i suoi sottoposti, viene rappresentato come una sfera di energia dotata di intelligenza.
Pres. Bayos
Compare a metà serie per sostituire il pres. Anzas e diventa il nemico principale dei terrestri; lo scontro finale si svolgerà proprio con lui.

The Diecast merchandising of the series was made by the POPY , in the line and in America from
The toy was released by Popy in 1983 as Albegas Dx in a horizontal box featuring all the robot configurations on a black background with a green grid. After Bandai acquired Popy, the toy was released in a different vertical box. In the United States, it was imported by Matchbox, as part of the Voltron line, in two versions: a single box or a maxi vertical box with all three robots included, similar to the Bandai edition, but without the Sambai sword.

Tetsuya Jin
Another member of Arbegas’ pilots; a very serious and quarrelsome guy who during the series falls in love with General Dari’s daughter.
Hotaru Mizuki
The only girl among the Arbegas pilots; she is the daughter of Prof. Mizuki, she is a model student and also a good tennis player.

He is the scientist who designed and built the Electric God Arbegas and is also Hotaru’s father; at the end of the story he marries his assistant Saeko.

Goro
A clumsy boy who also pilots a robot called “Gori robot”; he is in love (unrequited) with Hotaru.
Deran
He is the supreme leader of the Derinjer; he is the one who gave life to all his subordinates, he is represented as a sphere of energy endowed with intelligence.
Bayos
He appears halfway through the series to replace Pres. Anzas and becomes the main enemy of the Earthlings; the final battle will take place with him.
Anzas
Enemy of the first part; dies in combat against Arbegas
Daimon
Treacherous servant first of Anzas and then of Bayos; dies in the last episode after Deran’s disappearance.
