A parte il packaging, le versioni Godaikin dei giocattoli sono identici alle versioni giapponesi. Molti dicono che sono diversi ma in realtà una volta giunti in America venivano scatolati ed inseriti in scatole con marchio Godaikin. Dopo un’iniziale boom le vendite si rallentarono parecchio, i costi erano molto elevati e i robot erano parecchio delicati e soggetti a rotture, oggetti da collezione più che veri e propri giocattoli, furono via via abbandonati e sostituiti dall’inarrestabile ascesa dei Transformers..

The Godaikin brand was developed by Bandai America in 1982. Bandai learned that beautiful Popy robots were being marketed and imported into America, and decided to create a line specifically for the American market. Aside from the packaging, the Godaikin versions of the toys are identical to the Japanese versions. Many say they are different, but in reality, once they arrived in America, they were boxed and placed in Godaikin-branded boxes. After an initial boom, sales slowed considerably. Costs were very high, and the robots were quite delicate and prone to breakage. More collectibles than actual toys, they were gradually abandoned and replaced by the unstoppable rise of Transformers.
