Barom One: La Dualità del Bene e l’Iconica Mach Rod di Popy
Nata nel 1972 dalla mente del leggendario Shotaro Ishinomori, Chojin Barom-1 è una serie Tokusatsu che ha ridefinito il concetto di eroe condiviso. La trasformazione nel potente Superman Barom-1 avviene infatti solo quando i due giovani amici, Takeshi e Kentaro, uniscono le forze e la volontà: una perfetta sincronia necessaria per sconfiggere i mostruosi “Dorugeman” creati dal malvagio Doruge.
Nel mondo del collezionismo vintage, Barom One è legato a un pezzo di storia estremamente pregiato. La ditta Popy ha infatti dedicato alla serie un unico modello die-cast: la mitica Mach Rod (PA-02). Questa vettura, con il protagonista alla guida, è oggi considerata un vero e proprio “sacro graal” per i collezionisti a causa della sua rarità e dell’elevato valore di mercato.

Nell’universo di Barom-1 ci sono due forze opposte che vagano per l’universo: Doruge è l’incarnazione del male, esistente per creare caos, conflitto e distruzione; mentre Kopu è la forza del bene e della pace. Un giorno, Doruge arriva sulla Terra e inizia a infettare le creature del pianeta con le sue cellule malvagie, che le trasformano in mostri. Durante il primo attacco di questi mostri, due giovani amici, Takeshi Kido e Kentaro Shiratori vengono salvati da Kopu. Kopu rivela loro che fanno parte di un’antica profezia e che riceveranno i poteri per proteggere la Terra e porre fine alla minaccia di Doruge una volta per tutte. Con questi poteri, ogni volta che gli amici si prendono per mano, si trasformano in Barom-1 Superman . |

Barom-1 è alto due metri, ha una super forza, è immune alle malattie e ai veleni, può resistere al caldo e al freddo intensi, alle correnti elettriche, alla pressione schiacciante del fondale marino e persino al vuoto dello spazio. Sebbene abbia una certa personalità, entrambi gli amici mantengono il controllo durante la trasformazione, con il brillante Kentaro responsabile della sua intelligenza e l’atletico Takeshi della sua coordinazione occhio-mano. |
Questa dualità è la principale debolezza di Barom-1: gli amici devono essere sempre in perfetta sincronia affinché l’eroe possa agire; Se non sono d’accordo o litigano tra loro, la trasformazione si interrompe immediatamente e tornano ad essere solo due studenti |

DORUGE
L’arcinemico di Barom-1, Doruge, è una creatura spaziale semisolida con poteri telepatici, che crea i mostri della settimana (chiamati Dorugeman) iniettando le proprie cellule nelle creature sulla Terra. Doruge può assumere un aspetto umano, in cui si atteggia a un uomo ricco su una sedia a rotelle che fa affidamento su due servi umani per svolgere parte del suo lavoro sporco. Oltre a questi servitori e ai mostri della settimana, ha un esercito di strane creature chiamate Antoman, che emergono dalla terra per diffondere distruzione e subire un pestaggio da Barom-1.

In the universe of Barom-1, there are two opposing forces that roam the universe: Doruge is the embodiment of evil, existing to create chaos, conflict, and destruction; while Kopu is the force of good and peace. One day, Doruge arrives on Earth and begins to infect the creatures of the planet with his evil cells, which transform them into monsters. During the first attack of these monsters, two young friends, Takeshi Kido and Kentaro Shiratori are saved by Kopu. Kopu reveals to them that they are part of an ancient prophecy and that they will be given the powers to protect the Earth and put an end to the threat of Doruge once and for all. With these powers, whenever the friends hold hands, they transform into Barom-1 Superman. |

Barom-1 is two meters tall, has super strength, is immune to disease and poison, can withstand intense heat and cold, electric currents, the crushing pressure of the seabed, and even the vacuum of space. Although he has some personality, both friends remain in control during the transformation, with the brilliant Kentaro responsible for his intelligence and the athletic Takeshi for his hand-eye coordination. |

Kopu
Kopu is an alien who gives Kentaro and Takeshi radar and the ability to transform into the powerful superhero Barom One by joining their hands. Now both boys must destroy the monsters possessed by Doruge.
DORUGE
Barom-1’s archenemy, Doruge, is a semi-solid space creature with telepathic powers, who creates weekly monsters (called Dorugeman) by injecting his cells into creatures on Earth. Doruge can take on a human appearance, where he poses as a wealthy man in a wheelchair who relies on two human servants to do some of his dirty work. In addition to these servants and the weekly monsters, he has an army of strange creatures called Antoman, who emerge from the earth to spread destruction and take a beating from Barom-1.
