Getter Robot: L’Alba del Gattai

Getter Robot è il capostipite assoluto dei robot componibili, un capolavoro di Go Nagai che ha cambiato per sempre il mondo dell’animazione.

I collezionisti di tutto il mondo venerano la serie Chogokin di Popy, che ha immortalato i tre robot nei celebri codici GA-02, GA-03 e GA-04. Il Getter 3, in particolare, è considerato uno dei “sacri graal” della linea per la sua rarità. Non meno importanti sono i veicoli della serie Popynica e la base Saotome Lab, che completano un panorama diecast di altissimo livello. In questa sezione di Robot Vintage, analizziamo ogni dettaglio di questi giganti in metallo che hanno difeso la Terra dai dinosauri robotici.

SPACE ROBOT- GETTER ROBOT – 51 PUNTATE – 1974
Getter Robot è il capostipite dei robot trasformabili, con più piloti che guidano più veicoli in grado di combinarsi in un unico robot (infatti il nome del robot ricorda, nella sua pronuncia, la parola giapponese che indica la “combinazione”, ovvero “gattai”). Il successo della serie è stato tale da generare numerosi seguiti (Getter Robot G, Getter Robot Go, Shin Getter Robot) e remake (Getter Robot – The Last Day, Neo Getter Robot, Getter Robot re:model ecc.) e ha fornito lo spunto per molte altre serie su robot componibili. Mentre sta studiando le peculiarità dei misteriosi Raggi Getter per usarli come fonte di energia, il Professor Saotome si rende conto che la Terra è in gravissimo pericolo. Il popolo-rettile del Regno dei Dinosauri, rimasto in ibernazione sin dal Mesozoico, si sta risvegliando e si prepara e riconquistare il pianeta che un tempo comandava col pugno di ferro. Saotome quindi costruisce un robot alto circa 37 metri, il Getter Robot, e si mette alla ricerca di tre piloti in grado di utilizzarne a pieno le 3 diverse configurazioni. Alla fine sono scelti Ryo(ma) Nagare, Hayato Jin e Musashi Tomoe e, con loro alla guida, il Getter Robot darà molto filo da torcere al Regno dei Dinosauri ed ai suoi terribili dinosauri-robot, i Mecha Saurus (chiamati megazaus nell’edizione italiana dell’anime)

Il merchandising Diecast della serie fu realizzato dalla ditta POPY .

Serie nata dal genio di GoNagai, Essendo le dinamiche delle trasformazioni impossibili da riprodurre, Popy ha realizzato i 3 robot e i 3 veicoli dei protagonisti. singolarmente e non trasformabili. Pezzi sempre amati e ricercati soprattutto il Getter 3 resta il più raro e costoso da trovare.

GETTA 1

La prima configurazione è quella dalla forma più umana capace di volare grazie ad un “mantello” metallico munito di piccoli propulsori, È dotata della scure cosmica, lanciabile come un boomerang, del raggio getta e di lame negli avambracci. Utilizza anche delle mosse simili al karate, come un possente calcio volante chiamato calcio getta.

La seconda configurazione ha una forma meno umana, dato che sulle braccia sono installate un’enorme trivella e una grande pinza. È il robot più veloce ed è anche più variamente armato di Getta 1, è dotato oltre al trapano e alla tenaglia di cono perforante sparata come un missile, tornado getta, raggio perforante che fuoriesce dalla pinza.

La terza sembrerebbe una fusione tra un robot dalle sembianze umanoidi e un mezzo cingolato.È il robot fisicamente più forte dei tre: oltre alle prese e mosse di judo, è dotato di una coppia di lanciamissili alloggiati sulle spalle.

MACHINE COMMAND E BASE FORTNESS

La base di Getta Robot è il laboratorio di Saotomè, comandato dal professor Saotomè. Il laboratorio si erge su un fianco del monte Asama e possiede una lunga rampa di lancio da cui partono le navette Getta; sulla torre si trova il Collettore dedicato alla raccolta dei Raggi Getta.

La Macchina Comando è la navetta bianca pilotata da Mikiru. In genere è sempre il primo mezzo ad uscire in perlustrazione per controllare le varie situazioni anomale registrate al laboratorio di Saotomè.

Rio Nagare

È il pilota della navicella rossa denominata Aquila e protagonista principale della serie; si trova spesso a bisticciare con Hayato, il quale non condivide alcuni dei suoi atteggiamenti e prese di posizione. Abile sportivo, il padre è un importante maestro di arti marziali.

Hayato Jin

Un tipo solitario ed introverso, alto e con i capelli neri, porta una croce al collo in ricordo della madre defunta e suona l’armonica. È un buon calciatore e alpinista. Del terzetto è quello che riesce maggiormente a mantenere nervi saldi e chiarezza mentale durante il pericolo; è il pilota della navicella bianca denominata Giaguaro.

Musashi Tomoe

Il più basso e grosso del gruppo, capitano del club di judo locale, è il pilota della navicella gialla denominata Orso. Prova un forte sentimento romantico nei confronti di Michiru,

Profesor Saotome

A capo del laboratorio di difesa, è il creatore dei Getter Robot e lo scienziato che per primo ha studiato i raggi getta. Padre di Michiru, Genki e Tetsuto (morto nel primo episodio)

Genki Saotome

Fratellino di Michiru, indossa sempre un berrettino appoggiato di lato.

Mikiru Saotome

E’ la figlia del Professor Saotomè. Pilota la Command Machine, la navetta cha aiuta i pritagonista in battaglia

Impero dei dinosauri

Antichissimo Impero i cui appartenenti erano dinosauri evolutisi milioni di anni fa. In passato dominavano la superficie ma un cataclisma colpì la Terra che venne bombardata di raggi Getta, mortali per i dinosauri che dovettero rifugiarsi nel sostosuolo per sopravvivere. Risvegliatisi da un lungo sonno ora intendono riconquistare la Terra che un tempo era loro spodestando gli esseri umani.

Grande Diavolo Uller

Capo assoluto dell’Impero dei Dinosauri, salvò dall’estinzione i rettili e li nascose nel sottosuolo con l’intento di usarli per conquistare la Terra una volta tornato in superfice.

Imperatore Gohl

E’ l’Imperatore del Regno dei Dinosauri, assieme ai suoi collaboratori ed assistenti pianifica ed organizza le strategie di battaglia

Generale Bat

Ccomandante in capo dell’esercito dell’Impero dei Dinosauri, sceglie di persona i Capitani che piloteranno i Megazaus che dovranno scontrarsi in battaglia contro i Getta Robot.

The Diecast merchandising of the series was made by the POPY .

Series born from the genius of GoNagai, Since the dynamics of the transformations are impossible to reproduce, Popy has created the 3 robots and the 3 vehicles of the protagonists, individually and not transformable. Pieces always loved and sought after especially the Getter 3 remains the rarest and most expensive to find.

The first configuration is the most human-shaped, capable of flying thanks to a metal “cloak” equipped with small thrusters. It is equipped with the cosmic axe, which can be thrown like a boomerang, a jet ray, and blades in its forearms. It also uses moves similar to karate, such as a powerful flying kick called the jet kick.

The second configuration has a less human shape, as a huge drill and a large pincer are installed on the arms. It is the fastest robot and is also more variously armed than Getta 1, it is equipped in addition to the drill and the pincer of a piercing cone fired like a missile, a tornado throws, a piercing beam that comes out of the pincer.

The third appears to be a fusion between a humanoid-like robot and a half-track. It is the physically strongest robot of the three: in addition to judo holds and moves, it is equipped with a pair of missile launchers housed on its shoulders.

MACHINE COMMAND E BASE FORTNESS

The base of Getta Robot is the laboratory of Saotomè, commanded by Professor Saotomè. The laboratory stands on a side of Mount Asama and has a long launch ramp from which the Getta shuttles depart; on the tower is the Collector dedicated to the collection of Getta Rays.

The Command Machine is the white shuttle piloted by Mikiru. It is usually the first vehicle to go out on patrol to check the various anomalous situations recorded at Saotome’s laboratory.

Rio Nagare

He is the pilot of the red spaceship called Aquila and the main protagonist of the series; he often finds himself arguing with Hayato, who does not share some of his attitudes and positions. A skilled athlete, his father is an important martial arts master.

Hayato Jin

A solitary and introverted guy, tall and with black hair, he wears a cross around his neck in memory of his deceased mother and plays the harmonica. He is a good soccer player and mountaineer. Of the trio, he is the one who is most able to maintain his nerves and mental clarity during danger; he is the pilot of the white spaceship called Giaguaro.

Musashi Tomoe

The shortest and biggest of the group, captain of the local judo club, he is the pilot of the yellow spaceship called Bear. He has a strong romantic feeling towards Michiru,

Profesor Saotome

Head of the defense laboratory, he is the creator of the Getter Robots and the scientist who first studied the ray beams. Father of Michiru, Genki and Tetsuto (died in the first episode)

Genki Saotome

Michiru’s little brother, he always wears a cap placed on one side.

Mikiru Saotome

She is the daughter of Professor Saotome. She pilots the Command Machine, the shuttle that helps the protagonists in battle.

Dinosaur Empire

Ancient Empire whose members were dinosaurs that evolved millions of years ago. In the past they dominated the surface but a cataclysm hit the Earth that was bombarded with Getta rays, deadly for the dinosaurs who had to take refuge in the subsoil to survive. Awakened from a long sleep now they intend to reconquer the Earth that was once theirs by dethroning humans.

Great Devil Uller

Absolute leader of the Dinosaur Empire, he saved the reptiles from extinction and hid them underground with the intention of using them to conquer the Earth once he returned to the surface.

Emperor Gohl

He is the Emperor of the Dinosaur Kingdom, together with his collaborators and assistants he plans and organizes the battle strategies

General Bat

Commander in chief of the Dinosaur Empire’s army, he personally chooses the Captains who will pilot the Megazaus that will clash in battle against the Getta Robots.
