Hurricane Polymar: Il Polimero Indistruttibile
Prodotta dalla Tatsunoko nel 1974, la serie narra le vicende di Takeshi Onikawara, un giovane all’apparenza svogliato che nasconde un’identità segreta straordinaria. Entrato in possesso del “Polimet” — un casco rivoluzionario donatogli dal suo inventore — Takeshi può rivestirsi di un polimero indistruttibile e trasformarsi in Hurricane Polymar. Sotto le spoglie dell’assistente dell’investigatore Joe Kuruma, Takeshi combatte diverse bande criminali mascherate, sfruttando la capacità dell’armatura di mutare in cinque veicoli d’assalto: l’aereo Hawk, il carro Drill, il sottomarino Granpass, la veloce Machine e il corazzato Roller.
L’archivio di Robot Vintage analizza la variegata produzione diecast legata a questo eroe Tatsunoko, caratterizzata dalla collaborazione tra diversi marchi storici. Il giovane Takeshi Onikawara, un ragazzo all’apparenza goffo e scansafatiche, entra in possesso del polimet, uno speciale casco che riveste chi lo indossa di un polimero pressoché indistruttibile, consentendo anche di trasformarsi in qualunque veicolo (motocicletta, aereo, sottomarino, ecc.). Il ragazzo, in disaccordo con il padre (capo dell’Interpol), riceve in dono il polimet dal suo inventore – uno scienziato ucciso da una banda di criminali – e, dopo essersi addestrato nel suo utilizzo, cambia il suo cognome in Yoroi e passa a lavorare come assistente di Joe Kuruma, un investigatore privato da quattro soldi. Kuruma opera con lo pseudonimo di Sherlock Holmes Jr., assistito dalla propria segretaria Teru e da un cane San Bernardo di nome Barone. Tratti dall’anime sono stati realizzati il protagonista (eidai grip) e i veicoli (takatoku). Ottimamente realizzati sono abbastanza rari e costosi da trovare sopratutto se completi ed in box.

| Protagonista dell’anime. Il casco indossato da Hiroshi lo trasformano in Hurricane Polymar. A parte la forza aumentata e l’estreama agilità di cui viene dotato ,grazie al casco è in grado di trasformarsi in 5 veicoli diversi. La trasformazione in Polymar può però durare solo massimo 46 minuti poi deve riassumere l’aspetto normale o andrebbe incontro alla morte. Poiché l’armatura è alimentata da magnetismo è vulnerabile all’alta tensione. Non è infine in grado di trasformarsi con temperature inferiori a -50 gradi Celsius . |

The young Takeshi Onikawara, a seemingly clumsy and lazy boy, comes into possession of the polimet, a special helmet that covers the wearer with a nearly indestructible polymer, also allowing him to transform into any vehicle (motorcycle, plane, submarine, etc.). The boy, in disagreement with his father (the head of Interpol), receives the polimet as a gift from its inventor – a scientist killed by a gang of criminals – and, after training in its use, changes his surname to Yoroi and starts working as an assistant to Joe Kuruma, a two-bit private investigator. Kuruma works under the pseudonym of Sherlock Holmes Jr., assisted by his secretary Teru and a St. Bernard dog named Barone. Thanks to the use of the polimet, Takeshi will be able to solve any case, thus becoming Hurricane Polimar |

The protagonist (eidai grip) and the vehicles (takatoku) were made from the anime. Excellently made, they are quite rare and expensive to find, especially if complete and in box.

Aside from the increased strength and extreme agility he is endowed with, thanks to the helmet he is able to transform into 5 different vehicles.
