Speed Racer: Il Re delle Piste
Prodotta da Tatsunoko nel 1967, la serie segue le avventure di Go Mifune, un giovane pilota che sogna di diventare campione del mondo di Formula 1 alla guida della sua super-auto, la Mach 5. Supportato dal meccanico Kei e dalla fidanzata Michi, Go deve affrontare non solo avversari agguerriti in pista, ma anche pericolose organizzazioni criminali e corruzione aziendale che tentano di sabotare le corse. La Mach 5, dotata di incredibili gadget tecnologici azionabili dal volante, diventa il simbolo della lotta per la giustizia di Go, capace di superare ogni ostacolo nelle gare più insidiose del mondo.
L’archivio di Robot Vintage analizza il merchandising diecast realizzato dalla storica azienda Takatoku. Il pezzo forte della collezione è il modello dedicato al pilota Speed, realizzato con parti in metallo e caratterizzato da un design fedele all’anime originale. Una particolarità di questa edizione è la presenza, all’interno del box, di una miniatura della Mach 5 come gadget incluso. Questi modelli Takatoku sono oggi molto apprezzati dai collezionisti per la loro rarità e per l’importanza storica del franchise, che ha segnato l’estetica delle corse automobilistiche nel mondo dell’animazione giapponese.

La storia è incentrata sulle corse automobilistiche e segue le avventure di un giovane ambizioso che aspira a diventare campione del mondo di F1; il personaggio principale è difatti questo ragazzo pilota chiamato Go Mifune. Go, con l’aiuto del suo fidato amico meccanico Kei, s’appresta a migliorare la sua auto da corsa in preparazione per la gara, aggiungendo un nuovo parabrezza. Scopre però ben presto che il mondo delle corse è stato inquinato dalla corruzione e sta per cadere sotto il controllo di un uomo d’affari megalomane: gli viene difatti chiesto, in cambio d’una cospicua somma di denaro, di perdere apposta la prossima gara… se non lo fa, sarà peggio per lui. Ma il nostro eroe non si piegherà, ché Go è disposto a lottare per la giustizia a fianco dei suoi amici: Userà la macchina sportiva per combattere la concorrenza sleale e i criminali; quest’organizzazione terroristica tenterà allora d’ucciderli con ogni mezzo a loro disposizione..Si troveranno così coinvolti nelle trame nascoste d’un gruppo aziendale di successo, tra progetti di nuovi motori e gare sabotate, a volte mettendo a rischio la stessa vita di Go. |

Fidanzata di Go, ha 18 anni e fa parte anche lei del team. Vola spesso su e giù con un elicottero durante le gare, consigliandolo sulla condotta migliore da attuare attraverso un collegamento radio

The Robot Vintage archive analyzes the diecast merchandising produced by the historic company Takatoku. The highlight of the collection is the model dedicated to the pilot Speed, made with metal parts and featuring a design faithful to the original anime. A unique feature of this edition is the presence of a Mach 5 miniature included as a gadget inside the box. These Takatoku models are highly valued by collectors today for their rarity and the historical significance of the franchise, which defined the aesthetics of car racing in Japanese animation.
