Daitarn 3: L’Invincibile Gigante d’Acciaio
Prodotta dalla Sunrise nel 1978, Daitarn 3 è una pietra miliare del genere robotico. Haran Banjo pilota il possente gigante trasformabile in astronave e carro armato per difendere la Terra dalla minaccia dei Meganoidi.
Nel collezionismo vintage, la licenza originale appartiene alla storica Clover. Il pezzo più ambito è il DX Daitarn 3 della serie Diecast Combination, un modello massiccio e ricco di metallo che permette tutte le trasformazioni viste nell’anime. Altrettanto celebre è la versione ST, apprezzata per la sua robustezza. Trovare questi modelli con scatola originale e accessori (come i celebri ventagli) è oggi un traguardo fondamentale per ogni appassionato di super robot d’epoca.

La serie narra le avventure di Haran Banjo, un giovane che pilota il gigantesco robot Daitarn 3 per combattere i Meganoidi, cyborg creati su Marte da suo padre, il professor Haran Sozo. I Meganoidi, guidati dal malvagio Don Zauker e dalla sua sacerdotessa Koros, vogliono trasformare l’intera umanità in cyborg. Accompagnato dalle bellissime assistenti Reika e Beauty, dal fido maggiordomo Garrison e dal piccolo Toppy, Banjo combatte per la pace nel mondo, nonostante l’odio profondo che nutre per le sue origini legate ai Meganoidi. |

Giocattoli diecast realizzati dalla ditta Clover. Robot e Mach Patrol realizzati si in versione standard economica sia nelle bellissime versioni deluxe trasformabili come nell’anime. Giocattoli sempre molto amati e ricercati.
Attualmente i diecast della ditta CLOVER non sono ancora stati catalogati nell’ Enciclopedia dei Diecast. Il volume è in fase di realizzazione.

Banjo Haran
Il protagonista. Forte, giovane, atletico, a tratti simpatico, caratteristici capelli sul blu, rappresenta una sorta d’incrocio tra gli eroi dei film di arti marziali, delle quali si dimostra formidabile maestro e un agente segreto alla 007, cosicché gli episodi, come anche le scene d’azione, sono ispirati a entrambi i modelli.
Beautiful Tachibana
detta “Beauty” è la bellissima assistente. Svampita, maggiorata, dolce biondona, ricorda non poco Marilyn Monroe e nella trama ricopre spesso ruoli assai sexy, suscitando la gelosia della meno appariscente Reika.
Reika Sanjo
ex agente segreto dell’Interpol. Sagace, intelligente, avveduta, molto affascinante, anche se non appariscente ed esuberante quanto Beauty.
Garrison Tokida
il maggiordomo tuttofare. Più che maturo, è un signore quasi anziano, ma ancora in forma e vanta il grado di tiratore scelto.
“Toppy” Toda
l’orfanello sempre nei guai, contribuisce quasi sempre alle note divertenti della trama.

E’ un agente dell’Interpol collega di Reika. Muore nel primo scontro coi Meganoidi.
MEGANOIDI
I meganoidi erano originariamente esseri umani, meccanizzati e resi cyborg a servizio degli uomini per lo sviluppo e colonizzazione del pianeta Marte; a partire da un certo momento in poi si sono però ribellati alle direttive dei loro creatori. Una particolare categoria di meganoidi è costituita da comandanti e soldati.
Don Zauker
il primo meganoide creato. Non fa altro che emettere dei suoni atoni, che Koros interpreta.La sua forma di Megaborg è colossale, tanto da surclassare il Daitarn stesso.
Koros
il Comandante Supremo dei Meganoidi. Bella, volitiva, con lunghissimi capelli rossi a treccia, è una spietata dittatrice che solo nell’ultimo episodio mostrerà debolezza di fronte alla sua fine. Nonostante il suo grado di Comandante, non si trasformerà mai, nemmeno nello scontro finale, in Megaborg.
Soldati
Soldati semplici, fanno parte di un esercito al servizio di Zauker, vengono inviati in missioni con lo scopo principale di tentare di uccidere il protagonista.

Produced by Sunrise in 1978, Daitarn 3 remains an icon of Japanese animation. Led by Haran Banjo, the team uses the robot’s triple transformation—Fighter, Tank, and Robot—to defeat the Meganoid empire.
The vintage toy line was managed by Clover. The most prestigious item is the DX Daitarn 3, a heavy diecast masterpiece that replicates the show’s transformations. The ST (Standard) version is also a staple for collectors due to its solid construction. Finding a Clover Daitarn 3 in Mint in Box (MIB) condition, featuring the classic chrome weapons and original packaging, is the ultimate goal for fans of 1970s super robots.

The Diecast merchandising of the series was made by the CLOVER .
Diecast toys made by Clover. Robot and Mach Patrol made in both standard economic versions and in the beautiful deluxe transformable versions as in the anime. Always much loved and sought after toys.
Currently the company’s diecasts CLOVER have not yet been catalogued in the Diecast Encyclopedia. The volume is in progress.

Banjo Haran
The protagonist. Strong, young, athletic, sometimes nice, with characteristic blue hair, he represents a sort of cross between the heroes of martial arts films, of which he proves to be a formidable master, and a secret agent like 007, so that the episodes, as well as the action scenes, are inspired by both models.
Beautiful Tachibana
called “Beauty” is the beautiful assistant. Airhead, busty, sweet blonde, she reminds us a lot of Marilyn Monroe and in the plot she often plays very sexy roles, arousing the jealousy of the less flashy Reika.
Reika Sanjo
former secret agent of Interpol. Wise, intelligent, shrewd, very charming, although not as flashy and exuberant as Beauty.
Garrison Tokida
the butler of all trades. More than mature, he is an almost elderly gentleman, but still fit and boasts the rank of sharpshooter.
“Toppy” Toda
the orphan always in trouble, almost always contributes to the funny notes of the plot.

He is an Interpol agent and Reika’s colleague. He dies in the first clash with the Meganoids.
MEGANOIDS
Meganoids were originally human beings, mechanized and made cyborgs to serve men for the development and colonization of the planet Mars; from a certain point on, however, they rebelled against the directives of their creators. A particular category of meganoids is made up of commanders and soldiers.
Don Zauker
the first meganoid created. It does nothing but emit toneless sounds, which Koros interprets. Its Megaborg form is colossal, so much so that it surpasses Daitarn itself.
Koros
the Supreme Commander of the Meganoids. Beautiful, strong-willed, with very long red braided hair, she is a ruthless dictator who only in the last episode will show weakness in the face of her end. Despite her rank as Commander, she will never transform, not even in the final battle, into a Megaborg.
Soldati
Ordinary soldiers, they are part of an army at the service of Zauker, they are sent on missions with the main purpose of trying to kill the protagonist.
