Muteking: Il Guerriero sui Pattini

Muteking (Tondemo Senshi Muteking) è una serie animata prodotta dalla Tatsunoko nel 1980. La storia segue le avventure di Takoro, un alieno simile a un polpo rosa proveniente dal pianeta Tako, che giunge sulla Terra (a San Francisco) all’inseguimento dei Fratelli Piovra, criminali intergalattici decisi a conquistare il mondo. Takoro stringe amicizia con Linn, un ragazzino di 12 anni, e grazie a uno speciale raggio lo trasforma in Muteking, un colorato guerriero che combatte sfrecciando sui pattini a rotelle. Con l’aiuto di mezzi stravaganti come il robot Hottoke e vari veicoli di supporto, Muteking riesce sempre a sventare i bizzarri piani dei malvagi nemici.

Il merchandising diecast della serie fu affidato alla Popy, che realizzò modelli in metallo e plastica per il protagonista, il simpatico Takoro e tutti i principali veicoli dell’anime. Tra i pezzi prodotti spiccano il Muteking (GB29), il modello di Tokoro (GB30) e i mezzi trasformabili come il Saizance (GB25) e il Conchuter (GB26). Questi modelli sono oggi considerati dei classici “entry-level” per i collezionisti di Chogokin, apprezzati per il loro stile pop e i colori vivaci che richiamano perfettamente l’atmosfera disco-funk degli anni ’80 tipica della serie.

Il protagonista è Takoro, un alieno dall’aspetto simile a un polpo rosa proveniente da un lontano pianeta chiamato Tako. Takoro è il vice-sceriffo della polizia locale che sta inseguendo un gruppo di pericolosi criminali intergalattici, quattro piovre nere che si fanno chiamare i Fratelli Piovra. Durante il suo inseguimento, il mezzo delle piovre nere precipita sulla Terra e così anche il povero Takoro: l’astronave precipita in America, per la precisione a San Francisco, nella casa di uno strambo inventore e della sua famiglia. Dopo tante peripezie, Takoro riuscirà a catturare i fratelli Piovra ma tuttavia è triste perché costretto ad abbandonare quella che per lui era una famiglia. Il capo della polizia del suo pianeta ha però una sorpresa in serbo per lui: come premio per i suoi sforzi, a Takoro viene affidato un incarico speciale sulla Terra, in modo da poter stare per sempre con il suo migliore amico Linn.

La realizzazione dei modelli tratti dalla serie fu affidata a Popy. Sono stati realizzati in metallo e plastica il protagonista, il simpatico Tokoro e tutti i veicoli che compaiono nell’anime. Pezzi abbastanza comuni e non particolarmente ricercati.

MUTEKING e TAKORO

Il protagonista della storia. Veste come uno skater americano ma con un costume stravagante di colore rosso, giallo e blu. Porta un paio di pattini a rotelle e la sua arma è un’asta allungabile con cui sconfigge i Fratelli Piovra. Solo Takoro può evocarlo, visto che Muteking non è altri che Linn trasformato da uno speciale raggio emesso dalla bocca del polpo.

TOKORO: Giovane polpo di colore rosa proveniente dal lontano pianeta Tako, in cui gli abitanti hanno un aspetto simile al suo, è il vice-sceriffo della polizia locale ed ha il compito di arrestare i fratelli Piovra

Gigantesco robot che accorre in caso di pericolo, è una sorta di palla occhialuta con due ali e due gambe. Nel suo hangar ha tre unità che escono a seconda dell’esigenza e dell’episodio.

Linn

12 anni, Quando non è nella sua forma segreta, Linn fa tutto quello che fa un normale ragazzino: andare a scuola, passeggiare con gli amici e fare lunghe pattinate per il parco e andare dietro alle ragazze

Il professore

Padre di Linn e Sonny, è uno strambo scienziato e astronomo che, sapendo che Takoro viene da un altro pianeta, cerca di scoprire tutto il possibile sul pianeta Tako. Ha un laboratorio sotterraneo dentro il quale c’è un enorme telescopio e una miriade d’incredibili invenzioni.

Koaro

Madre di Linn, è il capo della polizia di San Francisco: tanto sexy quanto determinata a ripulire le strade dal marcio, crede nel suo lavoro e molte volte lo prende così sul serio da arrabbiarsi per un nonnulla. Non crede nell’esistenza di Muteking e, quando il figlio Linn prova a dirglielo, lei lo rimprovera dicendogli che guarda troppa televisione.

FRATELLI PIOVRA

I malvagi fratelli Piovra sono riusciti a lasciare il loro pianeta, dirigendosi verso i terrestri mirando a conquistarli. Solo arrestando i fratelli Piovra Takoro potrà inoltre diventare sceriffo.

TAKOKIKI: Il leader dei Fratelli Piovra nonché il maggiore dei quattro. È simile ad una piovra di colore nero, con cinque tentacoli (così come anche il resto del suoi fratelli). Ha una sorta di fascia rossa sulla testa e gli piace il suo ruolo di capo. Takokiki è il violento del gruppo, che dà in escandescenze facilmente ma che ha anche un lato buono che però usa solamente con la sorella Takomi. Come i suoi fratelli è in grado di trasformarsi in umano.

Takomaro

Membro dei Fratelli Piovra. Il suo aspetto slanciato ricorda molto quello di un calamaro o una seppia. Takomaro, che ha una fascia gialla sulla testa, è il membro intelligente della famiglia, capace di stare ore e ore sui libri terrestri per cercare qualche espediente per aiutare i fratelli nel soggiogare la Terra. Gira sempre con un fucile laser a tracolla.

Takosaku

Il terzo dei Fratelli Piovra e anche il più piccolo dei maschi in quanto a statura. Takosaku è il più calmo del gruppo, ma anche il più giocherellone. Ha una fascia blu sulla testa.

Takomi

La minore dei Fratelli Piovra e l’unica femmina, viene trattata come una regina proprio in quanto donna. Romantica sognatrice, cova un amore viscerale per Muteking nonostante il dissenso dei suoi fratelli e sogna sempre di poterlo sposare. Nell’ultima puntata, però, si troverà costretta ad affrontarlo in duello (trasformandosi in Lady Oscar) perché non riesce a odiare i suoi fratelli nonostante la vita che facciano. Però sarà proprio quello il momento adatto in cui dichiarerà a Muteking l’amore che prova per lui.

Muteking: The Roller-Skating Warrior

Muteking (Tondemo Senshi Muteking) is an animated series produced by Tatsunoko in 1980. The story follows the adventures of Takoro, a pink octopus-like alien from the planet Tako, who arrives on Earth (in San Francisco) chasing the Octopus Brothers, intergalactic criminals hell-bent on world conquest. Takoro befriends Linn, a 12-year-old boy, and transforms him into Muteking using a special ray. Muteking is a colorful warrior who fights while speeding on roller skates. With the help of eccentric machines like the Hottoke robot and various support vehicles, Muteking always manages to thwart the bizarre plans of his villainous foes.

The diecast merchandising for the series was handled by Popy, which produced metal and plastic models for the protagonist, the friendly Takoro, and all the main vehicles from the anime. Notable releases include the Muteking (GB29), the Tokoro (GB30) figure, and transforming vehicles such as Saizance (GB25) and Conchuter (GB26). These models are now considered “entry-level” classics for Chogokin collectors, appreciated for their pop style and vibrant colors that perfectly capture the 80s disco-funk atmosphere of the show.

The creation of the models from the series was entrusted to Popy. The protagonist, the cute Tokoro and all the vehicles that appear in the anime were made of metal and plastic. The pieces are quite common and not particularly sought after.

MUTEKING e TAKORO

The protagonist of the story. He dresses like an American skater but with an extravagant costume of red, yellow and blue. He wears a pair of roller skates and his weapon is an extendable pole with which he defeats the Octopus Brothers. Only Takoro can summon him, since Muteking is none other than Linn transformed by a special ray emitted from the octopus’ mouth.

TOKORO : A young pink octopus from the distant planet Tako, where the inhabitants have a similar appearance to him, he is the deputy sheriff of the local police and is tasked with arresting the Octopus brothers.

Linn

12 years old, When he’s not in his secret form, Linn does everything a normal boy does: go to school, go for walks with his friends and go for long rollerblades in the park and chase girls.

Professor

Father of Linn and Sonny, he is a strange scientist and astronomer who, knowing that Takoro comes from another planet, tries to discover everything he can about the planet Tako. He has an underground laboratory inside which there is a huge telescope and a myriad of incredible inventions.

Koaro

Linn’s mother, she is the chief of the San Francisco police: as sexy as she is determined to clean the streets from the rot, she believes in her job and many times takes it so seriously that she gets angry over nothing. She does not believe in the existence of Muteking and, when her son Linn tries to tell her, she scolds him by saying that he watches too much television.

OCTOPUS BROTHERS

The evil Octopus brothers have managed to leave their planet, heading towards the earthlings aiming to conquer them. Only by arresting the Piovra brothers can Takoro also become sheriff.

TAKOKIKI: The leader of the Octopus Brothers and the eldest of the four. He is similar to a black octopus, with five tentacles (like the rest of his brothers). He has a sort of red band on his head and enjoys his role as leader. Takokiki is the violent one of the group, who easily goes into a rage but who also has a good side that he only uses with his sister Takomi. Like his brothers, he is able to transform into a human.

Takomaro

A member of the Octopus Brothers. His slender appearance is very reminiscent of a squid or cuttlefish. Takomaro, who has a yellow band on his head, is the intelligent member of the family, capable of spending hours and hours studying Earth books to find some trick to help the brothers in subjugating the Earth. He always carries a laser rifle slung over his shoulder.

Takosaku

The third of the Octopus Brothers and also the smallest of the males in terms of height. Takosaku is the calmest of the group, but also the most playful. He has a blue band on his head.

Takomi

The youngest of the Octopus Brothers and the only female, she is treated like a queen precisely because she is a woman. A romantic dreamer, she harbors a visceral love for Muteking despite her brothers’ dissent and always dreams of being able to marry him. In the last episode, however, she will find herself forced to face him in a duel (transforming into Lady Oscar) because she cannot hate her brothers despite the life they lead. However, that will be the right moment in which she will declare to Muteking the love she feels for him.
