Raideen: Il Coraggioso Protettore di Mu
Dopo un letargo millenario, l’Impero dei Demoni si risveglia per invadere la Terra. Raideen, il gigantesco robot protettore della civiltà Mu, si attiva all’interno di una piramide dorata sentendo la minaccia. Akira Hibiki, discendente del popolo di Mu, viene guidato da una voce misteriosa e assume il controllo del robot. Insieme ai suoi amici e ai mezzi di supporto del laboratorio di ricerca, Akira combatte contro il principe Sharkin e le creature magiche dell’Impero Yoma per salvare l’umanità.
Il merchandising diecast di Raideen, realizzato dalla Popy, riveste un’importanza storica fondamentale: è stato infatti il primo modello della casa giapponese a vantare la dicitura DX (Deluxe). Il modello principale è il GA-09, celebre per la sua capacità di trasformarsi nel “God Bird”. Oltre al robot, Popy ha commercializzato diversi mezzi di supporto, tra cui lo Spacar (PA-55), il Bluegar (PA-57) e la spettacolare base Mutropolis (PA-59), rendendo questa linea una delle più ricche e amate dai collezionisti vintage.

| RAIDEEN-50 PUNTATE – 1976 |
Yuusha Raideen è una serie anime di genere Mecha. Prodotto dalla Tohokushinsha, Asahi New Agency eSunrise, venne trasmesso dal canale NET (ora TV Asahi) dal 4 aprile 1975 al 26 marzo 1976 per un totale di 50 episodi. Il titolo internazionale ufficiale è Raideen The Brave. Trama Dopo un letargo durato migliaia di anni, l’impero dei demoni si risveglia e inizia una invasione per impadronirsi della Terra. Raideen,il robot gigante protettore della civiltà Mu, sente la loro presenza e si risveglia all’interno di una piramide. Un giovane ragazzo di nome Akira Hibiki viene avvertito della minaccia dell’impero dei demoni da una misteriosa voce e entra nella piramide. Viene rivelato che Akira è un discendente del popolo di Mu e che deve aiutare Raideen a salvare la Terra. Akira entra dentro il robot passando sopra una rampa e incastrandosi nella testa di Raideen con la sua moto e ne assume il controllo in una cabina di pilotaggio. In tipico stile anime, Akira è aiutato da Mari Sakurano, la figlia di un famoso scienziato, e da i suoi amici del club di Calcio. A metà serie, il signore dell’impero dei demoni, Barao, viene liberato dalla sua prigionia ed è determinato a concludere ciò che ha iniziato eoni fa. |

Si trasforma in un mezzo volante con l’aspetto di un rapace chiamato God Bird. |

Protagonista dell’anime. Scopre di essere l’ultimo discendente di un regno scomparso, il cui compito è quello di difendere la terra dagli attacchi dell’impero di Yoma, per farlo pilota un potente robot, il Raydeen, che utilizza per contrastare il popolo invasore.

Raideen: The Brave Protector of Mu
After a thousand-year slumber, the Demon Empire awakens to invade Earth. Raideen, the giant robot protector of the Mu civilization, activates inside a golden pyramid upon sensing the threat. Akira Hibiki, a descendant of the Mu people, is guided by a mysterious voice and takes control of the robot. Together with his friends and the support vehicles from the research laboratory, Akira fights against Prince Sharkin and the magical creatures of the Yoma Empire to save humanity.
The diecast merchandising for Raideen, produced by Popy, holds fundamental historical significance: it was the very first model from the Japanese company to feature the DX (Deluxe) label. The main model is the GA-09, famous for its ability to transform into the “God Bird.” In addition to the robot, Popy marketed several support vehicles, including the Spacar (PA-55), the Bluegar (PA-57), and the spectacular Mutropolis base (PA-59), making this line one of the richest and most cherished by vintage collectors.

The official international title is Raideen The Brave. Plot After a thousand-year slumber, the Demon Empire awakens and begins an invasion to take over the Earth. Raideen, the giant robot protector of the Mu civilization, senses their presence and awakens inside a pyramid. A young boy named Akira Hibiki is warned of the Demon Empire’s threat by a mysterious voice and enters the pyramid. It is revealed that Akira is a descendant of the Mu people and must help Raideen save the Earth. Akira enters the robot by riding over a ramp and embedding himself in Raideen’s head with his motorcycle and takes control of him in a cockpit. In typical anime style, Akira is aided by Mari Sakurano, the daughter of a famous scientist, and his friends from the Soccer club. Halfway through the series, the Demon Empire’s lord, Barao, is freed from his prison and is determined to finish what he started eons ago. |

Popy created not only the protagonist but also the vehicles used by the protagonists during the anime. From a collector’s point of view, Raideen was the first model made by Popy with the DX label.
