Robot 8-chan: Il Simpatico Combinaguai

Robot 8-chan (Robotto Hatchan) è la prima serie del filone “Toei Fushigi Comedy”, creata dal leggendario Shotaro Ishinomori e trasmessa tra il 1981 e il 1982. La storia ruota attorno a 8-chan, un robot alieno caduto sulla Terra che viene trovato e riparato da una famiglia umana. Con la sua personalità vivace, ingenua e spesso pasticciona, 8-chan cerca di rendersi utile nella vita quotidiana dei suoi nuovi amici, finendo però per causare situazioni esilaranti e surreali. La serie è amata per il suo tono leggero, i personaggi bizzarri e lo stile unico tipico delle produzioni Ishinomori di quegli anni.

Il merchandising diecast di Robot 8-chan è stato prodotto dalla Popy (e successivamente Bandai) all’interno della linea Chogokin. Il modello principale è l’Hatchan DX (GB-62), un pezzo iconico che riflette perfettamente il design “tondeggiante” del robot; è dotato di numerose funzioni interattive, tra cui la testa apribile, un volante nel busto e le gambe trasformabili in una piattaforma mobile con ruote. La linea comprende anche altri personaggi e mezzi, come lo chef Yaki Sola (GB-66), il postino Postoller (GB-64) e il telecomunicatore Telecomy (GB-65). Nonostante non siano robot da combattimento, questi modelli sono ricercatissimi dai collezionisti per la qualità dei materiali e la genialità dei meccanismi interni.


ROBOT 8 CHAN- 52 PUNTATE – 1982
Robot 8-chan – Aired from October 4, 1981, to September 26, 1982 in TV Asahi è la prima commedia sui robot basata sull’opera originale di Ishinomori. A differenza di “Robocon” e “110 No.”, che avevano un sapore di coraggio e umanità, questo lavoro ha un forte tema di varietà dovuto ai cambiamenti dei tempi e alle differenze nelle stazioni di trasmissione . Il titolo deriva dal fatto che Fuji TV ha 8 canali . Secondo Yoshio Urasawa , uno degli sceneggiatori , il produttore, Yasuji Ueda, aveva uno spirito competitivo nei confronti dei film eroici e voleva fare qualcosa che non fosse stato visto nei lavori precedenti di Toei.

Robot protagonista della serie, si caratterizza per un grande numero “8” scritto sulla parte anteriore dell’addome. Proviene da un pianeta sconosciuto e una volta giunto sulla Terra decide di rimanere e di lavorare come commesso in un negozio. Sebbene ami le verdure, soprattutto le patate , odia la vista dei peperoni verdi . Può volare utilizzando un’elica che esce dal suo buffo cappello.

Robot 8-chan: The Friendly Troublemaker

Robot 8-chan (Robotto Hatchan) is the first entry in the “Toei Fushigi Comedy” series, created by the legendary Shotaro Ishinomori and aired between 1981 and 1982. The story centers on 8-chan, an alien robot who falls to Earth and is found and repaired by a human family. With his lively, naive, and often clumsy personality, 8-chan tries to make himself useful in the daily lives of his new friends, often resulting in hilarious and surreal situations. The series is cherished for its lighthearted tone, bizarre characters, and the unique style typical of Ishinomori productions from that era.

The diecast merchandising for Robot 8-chan was produced by Popy (and later Bandai) under the Chogokin line. The flagship model is the Hatchan DX (GB-62), an iconic piece that perfectly captures the robot’s “rounded” design; it features numerous interactive functions, including an opening head, a steering wheel inside the torso, and legs that transform into a wheeled mobile platform. The line also includes other characters and vehicles, such as the chef Yaki Sola (GB-66), the postman Postoller (GB-64), and the communicator Telecomy (GB-65). Although they are not combat robots, these models are highly sought after by collectors for their material quality and the cleverness of their internal mechanisms.

Unlike “Robocon” and “110 No.”, which had a feel of courage and humanity, this work has a strong theme of variety due to the changing times and differences in broadcasting stations. The title comes from the fact that Fuji TV has 8 channels. According to Yoshio Urasawa, one of the scriptwriters, the producer, Yasuji Ueda, had a competitive spirit towards heroic films and wanted to do something that had not been seen in Toei’s previous works.

Robot protagonist of the series, characterized by a large number “8” written on the front of the abdomen. He comes from an unknown planet and once he arrives on Earth he decides to stay and work as a clerk in a shop. Although he loves vegetables, especially potatoes, he hates the sight of green peppers. He can fly using a propeller that comes out of his funny hat.
