Space Sheriff Shaider: L’Ultimo degli Sceriffi Spaziali
Space Sheriff Shaider (宇宙刑事シャイダー) è una serie televisiva Tokusatsu trasmessa in Giappone dal 1984 al 1985. È l’ultima serie della trilogia dei “Metal heroes”, i precedenti due sono Space scheriff Gavan e Space Sheriff Sharivan. Uno studente di archeologia, Dai Sawamura decifra i simboli della pianura di Nazca in Perù. Impressionati da questa impresa, la polizia dell’Unione decide di arruolarlo e di addestrarlo facendolo diventare uno sceriffo spaziale. Gli viene dato il nome in codice “Shaider” in memoria di un antico guerriero che sconfisse il cattivo imperatore Kubilai 12.000 anni prima. Quando Kubalai torna in vita minacciando la terra e i pianeti dello spazio, Shaider a bordo del suo super robot Vavilos inizia la sua battaglia per riportare la pace nella galassia.
Il merchandising Diecast della serie fu realizzato dalla ditta POPY e Godaikin. Sono stati riprodotti, il protagonista, i veicoli utilizzati nella serie ed il super robot Vavilos sia in versione standard che in versione Deluxe trasformabile. Vavilos è il robot pilotato dal protagonista: quando è in orbita attorno alla Terra è in modalità astronave e funge da quartier generale, può però trasformarsi in robot per combattere. Vavilos si trasforma anche in una pistola gigante chiamata Big Magnum o un robot gigante. Vavilos contiene anche 2 veicoli utilizzati dal protagonista: BULL HAWK (Moto del protagonista) e SHAIAN, un veicolo utilizzato in battaglia che può scomporsi in 2 veicoli, un jet e un Tank d’assalto. Toys poco ricercati.

He is given the code name ‘Shaider’ in memory of an ancient warrior who defeated the evil emperor Kubalai 12,000 years before. When Kubalai returns to life and threatens the earth and the planets of space, Shaider aboard his super robot Vavilos begins his battle to restore peace to the galaxy.
The Diecast merchandising of the series was made by the POPY and Godaikin company. The protagonist, the vehicles used in the series and the super robot Vavilos have been reproduced in both standard and transformable Deluxe versions. Vavilos is the robot piloted by the protagonist: when it is in orbit around the Earth it is in spaceship mode and serves as headquarters, but it can transform into a robot to fight. Vavilos also transforms into a giant gun called Big Magnum or a giant robot. Vavilos also contains 2 vehicles used by the protagonist: BULL HAWK (The protagonist’s motorbike) and SHAIAN, a vehicle used in battle that can split into 2 vehicles, a jet and an assault Tank. Not very sought after toys.
