Uomo Tigre 2: Il Successore della Cintura delle Piramidi

Sono passati nove anni dalla scomparsa di Naoto Date. Tommy Aku, un orfano cresciuto nel culto del primo Uomo Tigre, decide di seguirne le orme. Dopo aver viaggiato per il mondo e appreso svariati stili di combattimento, conquista in Egitto la leggendaria “Cintura delle Piramidi”. Tornato in Giappone, Tommy conduce una doppia vita: giornalista pasticcione di giorno e spietato lottatore di notte. Indossata la maschera di Naoto, deve affrontare la “Federazione Spaziale”, un’organizzazione criminale guidata dal potente emiro Hassan, che mira al dominio sportivo ed economico globale.

Il merchandising Diecast della serie fu affidato alla POPY. Il modello del protagonista, Tiger Mask II (GB-53), presenta un design più esile e moderno rispetto alla versione Meisaku della prima serie, riflettendo lo stile dell’animazione degli anni ’80. Tuttavia, il vero pezzo pregiato della linea è lo spettacolare Tiger Hurricane (PC-25): questo modello riproduce l’auto trasformabile di Tommy Aku, capace di passare da una sportiva rossa a una cabriolet gialla e nera con un mecha aggressivo. Il Tiger Hurricane è considerato un modello molto ricercato e costoso, una vera gemma per i collezionisti di veicoli diecast trasformabili.


UOMO TIGRE 2 – 33 PUNTATE – 1982
Sono passati nove anni dagli eventi raccontati nella prima serie. Il giovane Tommy Aku, orfano residente presso la “Casa dei Bambini di Ruriko”, e grande tifoso dell’Uomo Tigre originale, quando viene a sapere della morte di Naoto Date, decide di diventare un lottatore professionista. Comincia a studiare le arti marziali e nel frattempo intraprende la carriera di giornalista. Tommy intraprende un viaggio per il mondo durante il quale apprenderà i più svariati stili di combattimento. In Egitto, verrà a sapere che in Giappone esiste una Piramide che in passato era tempio dell’arte della lotta e, nel corso di un torneo segreto, conquisterà la Cintura delle Piramidi, leggendario alloro risalente sin dall’epoca dei faraoni e assegnato ogni quattro anni nel torneo segreto al lottatore mascherato che riuscirà a battere 10 avversari consecutivi e il detentore della cintura, che da oltre 3.000 anni non era assegnata ad uno straniero ed apparteneva in tempi antichi alle guardie del corpo del medesimo faraone. Indossata la maschera che un tempo apparteneva a Naoto Date, si presenterà al pubblico della lotta come L’Uomo Tigre II e dovrà combattere la Federazione Spaziale, organizzazione criminale, che ha come capo l’emiro Hassan, dittatore di un paese arabo e proprietario di uno dei più grandi imperi petroliferi al mondo. Hassan è segretamente lui stesso un fortissimo lottatore e mira, attraverso la Federazione Spaziale, a strappare al Giappone la supremazia nel campo delle discipline sportive, per poi espandere il suo potere anche in altri settori.

La seconda serie dell’uomo tigre fu sicuramente meno amata rispetto alla prima ma riscosse ugualmente molto successo. Popy riprodusse il protagonista in diecast (ma con un aspetto più esile rispetto alla versione Meisaku del primo Uomo Tigre). Bellissima molto ricercata e molto costosa è invece lo spettacolare modello diecast che riproduce l’auto trasformabile del protagonista.

TOMMY AKU

Protagonista, molto timido, ma sa essere anche molto serio e volitivo. Riesce a far coesistere due personaggi: pasticcione, nonché pigro nel lavoro, ma grintoso e deciso sul ring. Quando combatte, mostra la sua corporatura muscolosa, che nella vita normale da semplice giornalista riesce a dissimulare

Personaggio realmente esistente, è il coprotagonista della serie.
È il presidente dell’Associazione Giapponese. L’Uomo Tigre II gli racconta la sua storia, ma non gli svela la sua vera identità. Se nella prima serie ha un ruolo secondario, in questa
è una vera e propria spalla del lottatore mascherato e lo aiuterà ad allestire la sua palestra, portandovi i suoi ragazzi.

Midori

La protagonista femminile della serie. È la ragazza che lavora con Tommy Aku al giornale e che segretamente è innamorata di lui.

E’ il direttore del giornale “Oggi-Sport” in cui lavora Tommy Aku. Pavido e pasticcione, rimbrotta spesso Tommy per le sue mancanze, fino a minacciare di licenziarlo. È un vero elemento comico della serie, ma alla fine si commuove nel vedere il suo dipendente trionfare sul ring.

Hassan / Federazione Spaziale

Capo della federazione spaziale, Hassan è il ricchissimo emiro nonché tiranno di una nazione del medio oriente Muore di arresto cardiaco anche per i diversi colpi subiti, poco prima dell’arrivo della notizia che annuncia che la popolazione del suo paese si è sollevata in rivolta e la rivoluzione ha avuto successo.

After traveling the world and learning various fighting styles, he wins the legendary “Pyramid Belt” in Egypt. Back in Japan, Tommy leads a double life: a clumsy journalist by day and a ruthless wrestler by night. Wearing Naoto’s mask, he must face the “Space Federation,” a criminal organization led by the powerful Emir Hassan, who aims for global sporting and economic dominance.

The Diecast merchandising for the series was handled by POPY. The protagonist’s model, Tiger Mask II (GB-53), features a slimmer and more modern design compared to the Meisaku version of the first series, reflecting the 1980s animation style. However, the true highlight of the line is the spectacular Tiger Hurricane (PC-25): this model reproduces Tommy Aku’s transformable car, capable of changing from a red sports car to a yellow and black convertible with aggressive mecha. The Tiger Hurricane is considered a highly sought-after and expensive model, a true gem for collectors of transformable diecast vehicles.

The second series of the Tiger Man was certainly less loved than the first but was equally successful. Popy reproduced the protagonist in diecast (but with a slimmer appearance than the Meisaku version of the first Tiger Man). Very beautiful, highly sought after and very expensive is instead the spectacular diecast model that reproduces the transformable car of the protagonist.

Head of the space federation, Hassan is the very rich emir and tyrant of a Middle Eastern nation. He dies of cardiac arrest, also due to the various strokes he suffered, shortly before the news arrives announcing that the population of his country has risen up in revolt and the revolution has been successful.
