Gakeen: Il Magnetismo d’Acciaio
Trasmessa nel 1976, Magne Robo Gakeen porta all’estremo il concetto di robot magnetico, con i protagonisti Takeru e Mai che diventano il cuore pulsante del gigante d’acciaio.
Il merchandising d’epoca è dominato dalla Takara, che ha saputo sfruttare i giunti magnetici per creare una linea altamente interattiva. Il modello Gakeen DX è il cuore della serie, affiancato dagli “spiriti” magnetici Angel Spirit e Moto Spirit. Non mancano i mezzi di supporto come il carro armato Variant e i velivoli Plyzer e Mighty. Questi modelli sono icone della tecnologia magnetica anni ’70 e restano fondamentali per ogni collezione dedicata alla trilogia Magne Robo.

| GAKEEN – 26 EPISODE – 1977 |
Circa 200.000 anni fa la Terra venne invasa dagli Izariti, popolo extraterrestre con progetti di conquista e dominio. Tuttavia, essi non riuscirono a concretizzare i loro piani, mentre i terrestri formavano le prime comunità e riuscivano a sopravvivere alla vita preistorica. Rimasero alcuni superstiti degli Izariti, che si rifugiarono nelle profondità marine. Ai giorni nostri la razza, guidata dal capitano Brain, torna per conquistare la Terra, servendosi di un’avanzata tecnologia e di giganteschi mostri, ibridi a metà fra animali e vegetali e con parti meccaniche. Dopo aver esposto al pianeta la minaccia degli Izariti, e ignorato, il professore giapponese Kazuki affida il compito di salvare la Terra al giovane Takeru, esperto di karate, e alla propria figlia Mai, entrambi dotati di straordinari poteri. I due, unendosi, diventano il robot magnetico Gakeen che combatterà il popolo degli Izariti.Il meccanismo alla base dell’assemblaggio del Gackeen presenta parecchie analogie con la serie di Jeeg, in quanto anche in questo caso i protagonisti si trasformano in una parte del robot, formato da componenti forniti dall’esterno. Per cui, più che di un robot, si può parlare di un androide con una forte componente umana. |

Attualmente i diecast della ditta TAKARA non sono ancora stati catalogati nell’ Enciclopedia dei Diecast. Il volume è in fase di realizzazione.

Takeru Houjou
Esperto di karate,Orfano di madre durante un incidente in cui venne colpito assieme a lei da un fulmine – la donna morì sul colpo mentre lui ottenne straordinari poteri. Grazie alla potente resistenza all’elettricità donatagli dalla scarica, Takeru è l’Uomo Magnete Plus, reclutato dal professor Kazuki per diventare, unito a Mai, Gakeen. Un tipo solitario e individualista.
Mai Kazuki
Figlia del dottor Kazuki, sacrificò la sua gioventù per collaborare alla ricerca scientifica del padre. Per la salvezza dell’umanità, si sottopose ad incredibili esperimenti per poter diventare l’Uomo Magnete Minus, la controparte femminile di Takeru nella formazione dell’invincibile Gakeen.
Dr Mamoru
Vedovo, dopo aver compiuto numerosi esperimenti sull’uomo magnetico – inoltre anche sul corpo della figlia Mai – riuscì, facendola unire a Takeru, a creare Gakeen. Scopritore della minaccia degli Azariti
Gakeen: The Magnetic Steel Warrior
Aired in 1976, Magne Robo Gakeen pushed the boundaries of magnetic toy design, with heroes Takeru and Mai merging to trigger the assembly of the robot.
The original Takara toy line is legendary for its “Magne-Power” features. The DX Gakeen leads the collection, supported by the Angel Spirit and Moto Spirit sets, along with combat vehicles like Variant, Plyzer, and Mighty. These figures are masterpieces of 1970s engineering, allowing for endless combinations thanks to their interchangeable magnetic limbs and parts.

About 200,000 years ago, the Earth was invaded by the Izarites, an extraterrestrial people with plans for conquest and domination. However, they failed to realize their plans, while the Earthlings formed the first communities and managed to survive prehistoric life. Some survivors of the Izarites remained, who took refuge in the depths of the sea. In the present day, the race, led by Captain Brain, returns to conquer the Earth, using advanced technology and gigantic monsters, hybrids halfway between animals and plants and with mechanical parts. After having exposed the threat of the Izarites to the planet, and ignored it, the Japanese professor Kazuki entrusts the task of saving the Earth to the young Takeru, an expert in karate, and to his daughter Mai, both endowed with extraordinary powers. The two, uniting, become the magnetic robot Gakeen that will fight the Izarite people. The mechanism behind the assembly of Gackeen presents several analogies with the Jeeg series, as also in this case the protagonists transform into a part of the robot, made up of components supplied from outside. Therefore, more than a robot, we can speak of an android with a strong human component. |

Models made by Takara, sought after and loved, quite common but not particularly rare.
Currently the company’s diecasts TAKARA have not yet been catalogued in the Diecast Encyclopedia. The volume is in progress.

Takeru Houjou
Karate expert, orphaned by his mother in an accident in which he was struck by lightning with her – the woman died instantly while he gained extraordinary powers. Thanks to the powerful resistance to electricity given to him by the discharge, Takeru is the Magnet Man Plus, recruited by Professor Kazuki to become, united with Mai, Gakeen. A solitary and individualistic type.
Mai Kazuki
Daughter of Dr. Kazuki, she sacrificed her youth to collaborate in her father’s scientific research. For the salvation of humanity, she underwent incredible experiments to become the Magnet Man Minus, the female counterpart of Takeru in the formation of the invincible Gakeen.
Dr Mamoru
Widow, after having performed numerous experiments on the magnetic man – also on the body of his daughter Mai – he managed, by making her unite with Takeru, to create Gakeen. Discoverer of the threat of the Azarites
