| GODZILLA – GOJIRA – 1954 |
Godzilla (Gojira) è un kaijū (“mostro misterioso”) del cinema giapponese, protagonista di una lunga serie di film a partire dal 1954. La sua fama si è graduatamente espansa anche all’estero, tanto che è divenuto uno dei più famosi mostri della storia del cinema di fantascienza e fantastico. Godzilla è un Gojirasauro, immaginaria specie appartenente alla stessa famiglia del Tirannosauro, apparsa nel periodo Giurassico-Cretaceo e sopravvissuta fino in tempi recenti, localizzata in alcune isolette dell’Oceano Pacifico, per la precisione le isole di Odo e Ragos. Questo preistorico sopravvissuto viene mutato dalle radiazioni emanate dagli esperimenti nucleari americani (nel remake dai francesi) che hanno investito l’isola del Pacifico dove viveva. Le radiazioni hanno aumentato smisuratamente le dimensioni di Godzilla che è così divenuto un colosso con zampe grandi come una casa. Godzilla è un mostro molto malvagio e feroce, nemico dell’umanità, anche se nei film degli anni sessanta e settanta ne è diventato alleato per poi ritornare cattivissimo negli anni ottanta. Ma anche quando è pericoloso per gli umani, Godzilla si ritrova spesso nel ruolo dell’eroe, in quanto protegge il Giappone dai vari mostri che periodicamente lo attaccano. Godzilla infatti considera il Giappone casa sua data la super abbondanza di cibo e di nucleare (sua primaria fonte di energia) e non tollera quindi che il suo territorio venga invaso. |

I Kajiu sono mostri dell’immaginazio giapponese. Il capostipite più famoso è sicuramente Gojira (Godzilla). La cinematografia di film a lui dedicata è lunghissima. Bullmark commercializzò molti dei mostri contro i quali il protagonista ha combattuto. Diecast di nicchia ma molto apprezzati e ricercati.

| GODZILLA – GOJIRA – 1954 |
Godzilla (Gojira) is a kaijū (“mysterious monster”) of Japanese cinema, the protagonist of a long series of films starting in 1954. His fame has gradually spread abroad as well, so much so that he has become one of the most famous monsters in the history of science fiction and fantasy cinema. Godzilla is a Gojirasaurus, an imaginary species belonging to the same family as the Tyrannosaurus, which appeared in the Jurassic-Cretaceous period and survived until recent times, located on some islands in the Pacific Ocean, to be precise the islands of Odo and Ragos. This prehistoric survivor was mutated by the radiation emanating from American nuclear experiments (in the remake by the French) that hit the Pacific island where he lived. The radiation increased the size of Godzilla enormously, thus becoming a colossus with legs as big as a house. Godzilla is a very evil and ferocious monster, enemy of humanity, even if in the films of the sixties and seventies he became an ally and then returned very evil in the eighties. But even when he is dangerous for humans, Godzilla often finds himself in the role of the hero, as he protects Japan from the various monsters that periodically attack it. Godzilla in fact considers Japan his home given the super abundance of food and nuclear power (his primary source of energy) and therefore does not tolerate his territory being invaded. |

Kajiu are monsters of the Japanese imagination. The most famous progenitor is certainly Gojira (Godzilla). The cinematography of films dedicated to him is very long. Bullmark marketed many of the monsters against which the protagonist fought. Niche diecast but highly appreciated and sought after.
