Tetsujin 28, nato come manga e pubblicato in Giappone nel 1956, riscosse un enorme successo tanto che nel 1963 venne realizzato anche un anime di quasi 100 episodi. Si tratta del primo robot della storia dell’animazione che ha fatto da apripista ispirando centinaia di altre serie robotiche e imponendo dei “cliché” ben precisi che in seguito sono quasi sempre stati ripresi: il protagonista è quasi sempre giovane per identificarsi con il pubblico a cui è rivolto l’anime, il nemico punta alla conquista del mondo usando la forza ma è comunque mosso da un codice d’onore che lo spinge ad attaccare sempre con un solo robot alla volta, di solito la storia inizia e finisce sempre nell’arco di una puntata... e molto altro ancora. Popy lo inserì pertanto con pieno merito nella Meisaku Series.

 Il Tetsujin 28 GA63 è il predecessore di quello che conosciamo in italia  con il nome di Super Robot 28, ma non sono ovviamente la stessa cosa. il GA63 è tratto dal manga scritto da Mitsuteru Yokoyama  mentre il Tetsujin 28 che conosciamo noi è quello dell’anime trasmesso in tv ed è stato riprodotto dal Popy in seguito (GB23 GB24 e SCG01). Il robot differisce molto rispetto al suo successore, il mecha design è sicuramente poco accattivante, troppo tondeggiante, caratteristiche però che lo rendono un pezzo unico nel suo genere.  La posabilità è molto limitata, i pugni sono sparabili e dalla pancia possono essere lanciati dei missili. In realtà questi dispositivi sono stati aggiunti per rendere il robot più interessante e appetibile per i bambini dell’epoca, perchè sia nel manga che nell’anime Tetsujin non aveva armi. Giocattolo sempre più costoso e raro.

Tetsujin 28, born as a manga and published in Japan in 1956, was so successful that in 1963 an anime of almost 100 episodes was also made. The Tetsujin 28 GA63 is the predecessor of the one we know in Italy with the name of Super Robot 28, but they are obviously not the same thing. The GA63 is taken from the manga written by Mitsuteru Yokoyama while the Tetsujin 28 that we know is the one from the anime broadcast on TV and was reproduced by Popy later ( GB23 GB24 and SCG01 ). The robot is very different from its successor, the mecha design is certainly not very attractive, too rounded, characteristics that make it a unique piece of its kind. The posability is very limited, the fists are shootable and missiles can be launched from the belly. In reality these devices were added to make the robot more interesting and appealing for children of the time, because both in the manga and in the anime Tetsujin had no weapons. An increasingly expensive and rare toy.
