Blue Noah: L’Ultima Arca nella Battaglia per la Terra
Trasmessa nel 1979, Blue Noah è un’epopea sci-fi che narra la lotta dell’umanità contro gli invasori di Gotham. La nave, una colossale portaerei sottomarina, è in grado di evolversi in nave spaziale per affrontare la minaccia aliena nello spazio profondo.
Il merchandising vintage fu affidato alla Nomura, che produsse modelli diecast celebri per il dettaglio ma anche per la fragilità. La Blue Noah DX, capace di trasformarsi, è oggi un pezzo raro e delicatissimo, affiancato nella linea dalla versione ST e dal Battle Copter.

| BLUE NOAH – 27 EPISODI – 1979 |
La trama di questo anime è ambientata nella seconda metà del XXI secolo. L’umanità è tranquilla, libera da guerre, e la vita di ogni individuo si svolge nella serenità più assoluta. Ad un tratto tutto però viene sconvolto. Nell’anno 2052 la Terra è invasa dagli alieni del pianeta Gotham, giunti nel sistema solare a bordo di un enorme satellite che accoglie 200 milioni di persone. Grazie ad uno speciale dispositivo, il satellite artificiale inizia a ruotare attorno alla Terra, sbilanciandone l’asse di rotazione e provocando numerose catastrofi naturali, aggravando ulteriormente la situazione a seguito degli attacchi alieni. Durante uno di questi, Makoto Kusaka, il protagonista, perde il padre, Kenshiro Kusaka — esimio scienziato — che però prima di morire gli consegna un ciondolo e un messaggio da tenere a mente: Blu Noah. Makoto, a bordo di una navicella recupera alcuni compagni di università e una ragazza, Kei, partendo poi per un’isola presso la quale si fermano per un tuffo tra le onde. Uno dei ragazzi è risucchiato da un gorgo e, raggiunto dagli altri arriva di fronte ad un pannello a tenuta stagna situato in una grotta. Makoto, usando il ciondolo, riesce a farlo aprire e, proseguendo, scopre di essere a bordo di un sottomarino. Azionando il comando vocale la nave emerge dall’isola rivelandosi per quello che è: il sottomarino Blue Noah. Caso vuole che ad assistere alla fortuita emersione della Blue Noah vi sia il capitano Domon a bordo dello Sheila, sorpreso dell’inavvertita messa in funzione del sottomarino. Grazie al pilota automatico, lo Sheila si aggancia alla chiglia della Blue Noah e il capitano Domon scopre il gruppo di ragazzi (fra i quali anche sua figlia Kei). Questi chiedono e ottengono di entrare a far parte dell’equipaggio, e vengono assegnati allo Sheila, un’unità semi-indipendente, agli ordini del comandante Shimizu. Inizia così il viaggio della Blue Noah verso le Bermuda, dove verrà equipaggiata con il motore antigravitazionale che la trasformerà in sottomarino spaziale. Durante il viaggio la Blue Noah distrugge diverse basi gotamiane, ma è costretta a riparare al Polo Nord per i danni subiti, e l’equipaggio perde il comandante Shimizu prima e il cuoco di bordo poi (reso inspiegabilmente napoletano dal doppiaggio italiano). Giunta al punto numero 9, la Blue Noah viene modificata e resa nave spaziale. Dopo aver distrutto l’ultimo avamposto gotamiano sulla Terra, situato nel Sahara, la Blue Noah parte all’attacco del satellite Gotham. A causa delle sconfitte riportate, i generali di Gotham chiedono rinforzi al satellite orbitante ma il comandante Zetler rifiuta misteriosamente. Uno dei generali scopre la verità: il satellite partito da Gotham con la missione di cercare, non di invadere, un altro pianeta abitabile dai gothamiani è difettoso e tutta la popolazione del satellite è morta. Alcuni sospetti erano emersi già prima, infatti la scelta della Terra non era coerente col progetto iniziale, che aveva una funzione meramente esplorativa, ecco perché i gothamiani erano costretti a mutare la biosfera terrestre, producendo acqua pesante nelle loro basi oceaniche, alimentate col diossido di deuterio. Zetler aveva invaso la Terra perché a conoscenza del fatale difetto del satellite, ed aveva anche progettato di fuggire assieme al patrimonio genetico dei gothamiani, abbandonando quelli in carne ed ossa al loro destino. Intanto la Blue Noah attacca, danneggia il satellite e un’esplosione uccide Zetler, ormai messo alle strette dai tre generali rimasti. Uno di questi informa la Blue Noah del destino che spetta al satellite e parte con l’ultima nave da guerra rimasta, con un equipaggio di 12 soldati, per l’ultima battaglia contro la Blue Noah, nell’orbita di Marte. La Blue Noah vince ancora ma il capitano Domon è ferito e muore tra le braccia della figlia Kei, dopo aver lasciato il comando a Makoto. Resta da fermare il satellite la cui avaria rischia di farlo schiantare contro la Terra. Con una manovra disperata, gli ultimi due superstiti della spedizione gothamiana frenano la corsa del satellite che finisce bruciato nel Sole. L’anime si chiude cosi, con la Blue Noah che fa ritorno sulla Terra, che attende di essere ricostruita. |

Linea di giocattoli commercializzata dalla ditta Nomura, molto belli e ben realizzati anche se estremamente delicati, soprattutto la versione Deluxe della nave che tende a rompersi facilmente se si prova a trasformarla.

Portaerei della flotta giapponese, viene segretamente modificata per poter combattere contro gli invasori alieni, verso la fine della serie viene equipaggiata di un motore ausiliario che le permetterò di diventare una nave spaziale in grado di volare al di fuori dell’atmosfera terrestre.
Blue Noah è anche in grado di trasformarsi in un sommergibile per affrontare battaglie sottomarine.

NOMURA, ha commecializzato anche il Battle Copter, un piccolo mezzo in grado anche di volare utilizzato per missioni di esplorazione.
Makoto Kusaka
Protagonista della serie, si ritrova quasi per caso a bordo della Blue Noah, insieme ad alcuni amici scopre una grotta che non è altro che un condotto che porta al sottomarino nascosto sottoterra. E’ il figlio del progettista della nave.

Gothamiani
Originari del del pianeta Gotham, tentano in tutti i modi di conquistare la Terra. Il pianeta Gotham ormai è stato distrutto a causa di un buco nero e loro sono alla ricerca di un nuovo pianeta da colonizzare. Al loro comando c’è Zetler, ottimo stratega che sarà però ucciso dai suoi stessi generali una volta scoperta la verità dello scopo della missione di conquista.
Blue Noah: The Last Ark in the Battle for Earth
Aired in 1979, Blue Noah is a sci-fi epic following humanity’s battle against the Gotham invaders. The central ship, a massive submersible carrier, eventually transforms into a spacecraft to take the fight to the stars.
The vintage toy line was produced by Nomura, featuring diecast models known for their beauty and fragility. The transforming Blue Noah DX is a holy grail for collectors, joined by the ST version and the Battle Copter support vehicle.

The plot of this anime is set in the second half of the 21st century. Humanity is peaceful, free from wars, and the life of each individual takes place in absolute serenity. Suddenly, however, everything is turned upside down. In the year 2052, the Earth is invaded by aliens from the planet Gotham, who arrived in the solar system aboard a huge satellite that houses 200 million people. Thanks to a special device, the artificial satellite begins to rotate around the Earth, unbalancing its rotation axis and causing numerous natural disasters, further worsening the situation following the alien attacks. During one of these, Makoto Kusaka, the protagonist, loses his father, Kenshiro Kusaka — an eminent scientist — who, however, before dying, gives him a pendant and a message to keep in mind: Blue Noah. Makoto, aboard a spaceship, recovers some university friends and a girl, Kei, then leaves for an island where they stop for a dip in the waves. One of the boys is sucked into a whirlpool and, joined by the others, arrives in front of a watertight panel located in a cave. Makoto, using the pendant, manages to make it open and, continuing, discovers that he is on board a submarine. By activating the voice command, the ship emerges from the island revealing itself for what it is: the Blue Noah submarine. As chance would have it, the one to witness the fortuitous emergence of the Blue Noah is Captain Domon on board the Sheila, surprised by the inadvertent activation of the submarine. Thanks to the automatic pilot, the Sheila attaches itself to the keel of the Blue Noah and Captain Domon discovers the group of boys (among whom is also his daughter Kei). They ask and obtain to become part of the crew, and are assigned to the Sheila, a semi-independent unit, under the orders of Commander Shimizu. Thus begins the journey of the Blue Noah towards Bermuda, where it will be equipped with the anti-gravity engine that will transform it into a space submarine. During the journey, the Blue Noah destroys several Gothamian bases, but is forced to repair to the North Pole due to the damage suffered, and the crew loses Commander Shimizu first and then the ship’s cook (inexplicably made Neapolitan by the Italian dubbing). Having reached point number 9, the Blue Noah is modified and turned into a spaceship. After destroying the last Gothamian outpost on Earth, located in the Sahara, the Blue Noah sets off to attack the Gotham satellite. Due to the defeats suffered, the Gotham generals ask for reinforcements from the orbiting satellite, but Commander Zetler mysteriously refuses. One of the generals discovers the truth: the satellite that left Gotham with the mission of searching for, not invading, another planet habitable by Gothamians is defective and the entire population of the satellite is dead. Some suspicions had already emerged before, in fact the choice of Earth was not consistent with the initial project, which had a merely exploratory function, that’s why the Gothamians were forced to change the Earth’s biosphere, producing heavy water in their ocean bases, fueled by deuterium dioxide. Zetler had invaded Earth because he knew of the satellite’s fatal defect, and had also planned to escape together with the Gothamians’ genetic heritage, abandoning the flesh-and-blood ones to their fate. Meanwhile, the Blue Noah attacks, damages the satellite and an explosion kills Zetler, now cornered by the three remaining generals. One of these informs the Blue Noah of the fate that awaits the satellite and leaves with the last remaining warship, with a crew of 12 soldiers, for the last battle against the Blue Noah, in the orbit of Mars. The Blue Noah wins again but Captain Domon is wounded and dies in the arms of his daughter Kei, after leaving the command to Makoto. The satellite remains to be stopped, its failure threatening to make it crash into the Earth. With a desperate maneuver, the last two survivors of the Gothamian expedition slow down the satellite’s progress, which ends up burned in the Sun. The anime ends like this, with the Blue Noah returning to Earth, which awaits reconstruction. |

Line of toys marketed by the Nomura company, very beautiful and well made even if extremely delicate, especially the Deluxe version of the ship which tends to break easily if you try to transform it.

Aircraft carrier of the Japanese fleet, it is secretly modified to be able to fight against the alien invaders, towards the end of the series it is equipped with an auxiliary engine that will allow it to become a spaceship capable of flying outside the Earth’s atmosphere.
Blue Noah is also able to transform into a submarine to engage in underwater battles.

NOMURA has also marketed the Battle Copter, a small aircraft capable of flying and used for exploration missions.
Makoto Kusaka
The protagonist of the series, he finds himself almost by chance aboard the Blue Noah, together with some friends he discovers a cave that is nothing more than a conduit that leads to the submarine hidden underground. He is the son of the ship’s designer.
Kei Domon
Makoto’s girlfriend, she is the daughter of Commander Domond
Comandante Domon
Commander of the Blue Noah ship and father of Kei, he dies bravely during the series and leaves command to Makoto.
Gothamiani
Originally from the planet Gotham, they try in every way to conquer the Earth. The planet Gotham has now been destroyed because of a black hole and they are looking for a new planet to colonize. At their command is Zetler, an excellent strategist who will however be killed by his own generals once the truth of the purpose of the conquest mission is discovered.
