Mild Robo: I Robot dell’Amore
A differenza di molte altre linee di giocattoli dell’epoca, i Mild Robot non nascono da un anime o da una serie televisiva. In origine, questi simpatici personaggi vennero creati come gadget promozionali per reclamizzare una marca di whisky, con i piccoli robot inseriti direttamente all’interno di bottiglie di plastica che portavano l’etichetta del liquore. Il successo fu talmente travolgente che vennero presto prodotti in serie e in vari formati, venendo lanciati sul mercato con lo slogan: “Mild Robot, i robot dell’amore… i migliori amici dei bambini”.
Per sfruttare la popolarità del momento, la ditta Popy acquisì i diritti per produrre versioni chogokin dei due protagonisti. I modelli risultanti, il Mildboy (GC18) e la Mildgirl (GC19), sono piccoli robot in metallo dal design semplice e amichevole. Sebbene siano oggi meno noti al grande pubblico rispetto ai giganti d’acciaio come Mazinga o Goldrake, rappresentano una curiosità affascinante e rara all’interno dell’archivio di Robot Vintage, testimoniando un’epoca in cui il fenomeno dei robot influenzava ogni settore del merchandising giapponese.

I mild robot non derivano da nessun cartone animato o serie televisiva, in realtà erano dei giocattoli utilizzati per reclamizzare un whisky….ed erano inseriti in bottiglie di plastica con l’etichetta del super alcolico reclamizzato. Il successo fu tale che furono prodotti in serie ed in vari formati, reclamizzati come “mild robot i robot dell’amore..i migliori amici dei bambini”. Per cavalcare l’onda del momento anche popy acquisi’ i diritti e decise di produrre 2 chogokin con i 2 protagonisti. |

Mild Robo: The Robots of Love
Unlike many other toy lines of the era, the Mild Robos did not originate from an anime or television series. To capitalize on their popularity, the Popy company acquired the rights to produce chogokin versions of the two main characters. The resulting models, Mildboy (GC18) and Mildgirl (GC19), are small metal robots with a simple and friendly design. While they are less known today to the general public compared to steel giants like Mazinger or Grendizer, they represent a fascinating and rare curiosity within the Robot Vintage archive, witnessing a time when the robot phenomenon influenced every sector of Japanese merchandising.
