Orguss: L’Odissea Dimensionale
Ambientato nell’anno 2062, Chou Jikuu Seiki Orguss narra le vicende del pilota Kei Katsuragi. In seguito alla detonazione di una Bomba ad Oscillazione Spazio/Tempo, la Terra diventa un mosaico di dimensioni parallele. Kei, a bordo del suo robot trasformabile Orguss, deve lottare per proteggere i suoi amici e trovare un modo per riparare il disastro dimensionale di cui è stato involontario artefice.
Il merchandising diecast originale fu realizzato dalla Takatoku. Nonostante l’altissima qualità ingegneristica dei modelli, la serie non ottenne il successo sperato, portando la ditta al fallimento nel 1984. A differenza di quanto accaduto per altri brand, gli stampi originali di Orguss non vennero rilevati da Bandai, rendendo la produzione Takatoku un pezzo di storia unico e irripetibile. Oggi, questi modelli sono tra i più ricercati proprio perché testimoni dell’ultimo sforzo produttivo di una delle aziende più iconiche del settore.

| ORGUSS- 35 PUNTATE – 1984 |
L’anno è il 2062 e il mondo è in guerra. Le due superpotenze si scontrano per l’ ascensore spaziale . Molto più pericolose delle armi atomiche , biologiche o chimiche sono le armi dimensionali, come la Bomba ad Oscillazione Spazio/Tempo . Nonostante l’enorme potenza di questa bomba, deve essere armata sul posto da una squadra di ingegneri. Disperatamente, il Freedom Space Corps lancia un’offensiva per piazzare una bomba di oscillazione spazio/temporale e distruggere l’ascensore spaziale. Durante questo attacco, gli ingegneri sono costretti ad interrompere la missione e a distruggere la bomba prima che possa essere adeguatamente armata. Infuriato per la decisione di abortire e con la sensazione che i suoi compagni siano morti invano , lo sfacciato pilota di caccia Kei Katsuragi arma a casaccio la bomba con gravi ripercussioni. Un’esplosione dimensionale trasporta Kei e il suo caccia variabile Bronco II in un futuro gravemente danneggiato. Lì viene inseguito per ragioni sconosciute dal militarista Chilam e aiutato dallo zingaro Emaan. Entrambe le parti hanno qualche interesse sconosciuto per Kei, riferendosi a lui come un Tokuiten (lett. “punto di singolarità”) . Dopo che il Bronco II di Kei viene danneggiato durante un combattimento, gli Emaan lo modificano nell’Orguss , l’omonimo mecha della serie, che fu successivamente adottato e prodotto in serie come Orguss II. |

La produzione di diecast della Takatoku inerenti all’anime è stata molto elevata, a riprova della convinzione di poter nuovamente ripercorre l’incredibile successo ottenuto con Macross. La realtà fu molto diversa, le vendite furono bassissime segnando il tracollo economico/finanziario della ditta giapponese.

| Orguss Emaan Mecha |
Nell’anime, gli Emaan provengono da un altro mondo che è stato costretto a fondersi con la Terra dopo la detonazione della Bomba Tempo/Spazio. La società è divisa in potenti clan che convivono pacificamente tra loro. La loro tecnologia supera la conoscenza umana nella maggior parte dei settori, ma non sono in grado di tornare nel loro mondo o riparare la pericolosa situazione della Terra. Si sentono Minacciati dai Chiram. |

Nazione formatasi subito dopo la catastrofe causata dalla detonazione della Bomba Tempo/Spazio. Rappresenta la maggior parte degli esseri umani sulla Terra ed è dedito al mantenimento di un esercito forte. Struttura molto militarizzata che cerca di mantenere il controllo della Terra con la forza. |

Kei Katsuragi
Kei Katsuragi è il principale giovane eroe dell’anime di Orguss. Si ritrova catapultato nel mondo di Orguss dopo essere stato al punto zero della detonazione della Bomba ad Oscillazione Spazio/Tempo. Kei è il classico giovane pilota testa calda,Solo dopo che Leegh ha trasformato i resti del suo Bronco nel formidabile robot Orguss, Kei trova uno scopo: proteggere i suoi nuovi amici mentre torna verso il territorio di Emaan per trovare una soluzione al suo dilemma.
Olsen
Olsen è l’amico e gregario di Kei all’inizio di Orguss. Anche la detonazione della bomba spazio/tempo getta Olsen nel mondo di Orguss, ma anni prima dell’arrivo di Kei. Olsen si adatta naturalmente ai Terram, dal momento che la loro struttura è proprio come l’esercito in cui si trovava in quel momento. Dopo l’arrivo di Kei, Olsen abbandona il suo rango Terram e si unisce a Kei. Olsen ricopre anche il ruolo di mentore di Kei quando necessario, ma non smette mai di essere suo amico.
Athena
Atena è (a sua insaputa) la figlia di Kei e della sua fidanzata che aveva lasciato incinta quando è esplosa la bomba Tempo/Spazio. È stata allevata da sua madre Tina e dallo “zio” Olsen. Olsen la spinse verso l’esercito mentre cresceva e alla fine si unì all’esercito Terram, diventando rapidamente uno dei loro migliori piloti Nikick. Ironicamente, prima di sapere chi è Kei, trascorre gran parte del suo tempo cercando attivamente di farlo saltare in aria per volere dell’esercito Terram.
Maaie e Lieea
Maaie e Lieea sono sorelle che prestano servizio a bordo della Glomar. Sono entrambi ancora adolescenti e si comportano di conseguenza per la maggior parte del tempo. Entrambi volano con gli M-Lovers in difesa del Glomar e sono entrambi piloti abbastanza decenti, ma per niente vicini al calibro di Kei e Olsen. Alla fine volano al riparo per Kei e Olsen quando corrono sull’ascensore orbi
Mimsy Larz
Una ragazza Emaan di 16 anni. Ricopre il ruolo di Vice-Capitano e fornisce informazioni e tattiche di battaglia. Il suo interesse per Kei è, inizialmente, perché lui è singolare ed estraneo al suo mondo.La sua famiglia gestisce il paese di Emaan. Dopo la morte sacrificale di Sray, suo promesso sposo, Mimsy matura un po’ e prende la decisione di stare con Kei, ma per la maggior parte della serie tende ad essere petulante e un po’ lamentosa.
Jabi
Jaby è una creatura dinosauroide proveniente da una Terra alternativa dove i dinosauri hanno raggiunto la sensibilità e sono diventati la specie dominante. Jaby è un’anima gentile e poetica che desidera semplicemente tornare nel suo mondo e rivedere la sua gente. È un romantico nel cuore e aveva più amiche a casa. Questo e il fatto che sia uno degli unici della sua specie unisce lui e Kei, poiché entrambi si sentono degli outsider nel mondo di Orguss.
Orguss: The Dimensional Odyssey
Set in the year 2062, Super Dimension Century Orguss tells the story of pilot Kei Katsuragi. Following the detonation of a Space/Time Oscillation Bomb, Earth becomes a mosaic of parallel dimensions. Kei, piloting the transformable Orguss robot, must fight to protect his friends and find a way to repair the dimensional disaster he unintentionally caused.
The original diecast merchandising was produced by Takatoku. Despite the high engineering quality of the models, the series did not achieve the expected success, leading the company to bankruptcy in 1984. Unlike other brands, the original Orguss molds were not acquired by Bandai, making Takatoku’s production a unique and unrepeatable piece of history. Today, these models are highly sought after by collectors as they represent the final production effort of one of the most iconic companies in the industry.

The year is 2062 and the world is at war. Two superpowers are fighting over the space elevator. Far more dangerous than atomic, biological or chemical weapons are dimensional weapons, such as the Space/Time Oscillation Bomb. Despite the enormous power of this bomb, it must be armed on site by a team of engineers. Desperately, the Freedom Space Corps launches an offensive to plant a space/time oscillation bomb and destroy the space elevator. During this attack, the engineers are forced to abort the mission and destroy the bomb before it can be properly armed. Enraged by the decision to abort and feeling that his comrades died in vain, brash fighter pilot Kei Katsuragi haphazardly arms the bomb with grave repercussions. A dimensional explosion transports Kei and his Bronco II variable-speed fighter to a badly damaged future. There he is pursued for unknown reasons by the militaristic Chilam and aided by the gypsy Emaan. Both sides have some unknown interest in Kei, referring to him as a Tokuiten (lit. “singularity point”). After Kei’s Bronco II is damaged during a fight, the Emaan modify it into the Orguss, the eponymous mecha of the series, which was later adopted and mass-produced as the Orguss II. |
The diecast merchandising of the series was made by the TAKATOKU .
Takatoku’s production of diecasts related to the anime was very high, proving the belief that they could once again repeat the incredible success achieved with Macross. The reality was very different, sales were very low, marking the economic/financial collapse of the Japanese company.

The society is divided into powerful clans that coexist peacefully with each other. Their technology surpasses human knowledge in most areas, but they are unable to return to their world or fix the perilous situation on Earth. They feel threatened by the Chiram. |

Kei Katsuragi
Kei Katsuragi is the main young hero of the Orguss anime. He finds himself thrown into the world of Orguss after being at ground zero of the detonation of the Space/Time Oscillation Bomb. Kei is a typical hot-headed young pilot. Only after Leegh transforms the remains of his Bronco into the formidable Orguss robot does Kei find a purpose: to protect his new friends while he returns to the territory of Emaan to find a solution to his dilemma.
Olsen
Olsen is Kei’s friend and sidekick at the beginning of Orguss. The detonation of the Space/Time Bomb also throws Olsen into the world of Orguss, but years before Kei’s arrival. Olsen fits in naturally with the Terram, as their structure is just like the army he was in at the time. After Kei’s arrival, Olsen abandons his Terram rank and joins Kei. Olsen also serves as Kei’s mentor when needed, but never stops being his friend.
Athena
Athena is (unknowingly) the daughter of Kei and his girlfriend who he left pregnant when the Time/Space Bomb went off. She was raised by her mother Tina and her “uncle” Olsen. Olsen pushed her towards the military as she grew up and she eventually joined the Terram Army, quickly becoming one of their best Nikick pilots. Ironically, before she learns who Kei is, she spends much of her time actively trying to blow him up at the behest of the Terram Army.
Maaie e Lieea
Maaie and Lieea are sisters who serve aboard the Glomar. They are both still teenagers and act like it most of the time. They both fly with the M-Lovers in defense of the Glomar and are both pretty decent pilots, but nowhere near the caliber of Kei and Olsen. They eventually fly to safety for Kei and Olsen when they run into the orbi elevator.
Mimsy Larz
A 16-year-old Emaan girl. She serves as Vice-Captain and provides information and battle tactics. Her interest in Kei is initially because he is strange and alien to her world. Her family runs the town of Emaan. After the sacrificial death of her betrothed Sray, Mimsy matures a bit and makes the decision to stay with Kei, but for most of the series she tends to be petulant and a bit whiny.
Jabi
Jaby is a dinosaur-like creature from an alternate Earth where dinosaurs have achieved sentience and become the dominant species. Jaby is a gentle and poetic soul who simply wishes to return to his world and see his people again. He is a romantic at heart and had multiple girlfriends back home. This and the fact that he is one of the only ones of his kind brings him and Kei together, as they both feel like outsiders in the world of Orguss.
