Daikengo Takatoku: Il Guardiano dello Spazio Vintage

Il Daikengo Takatoku (宇宙魔神ダイケンゴー) rappresenta uno dei massimi vertici del collezionismo di robot diecast anni ’70. Prodotta nel 1978 dalla Toei Animation, la serie è celebrata per il design unico del robot, capace di scomporsi in tre veicoli leggendari: la Daiken Combat Ship, il Daiken Buggy e il Daiken Caterpillar.

Nel mercato dei Robot Vintage, la licenza è legata indissolubilmente alla casa Takatoku. La prestigiosa linea Z-Character offre ai collezionisti due varianti fondamentali: la solida versione ST (Standard) e la mitica Buildplan DX. Quest’ultima è un capolavoro d’ingegneria dell’epoca, l’unica capace della trasformazione completa e completa di accessori iconici come le doppie spade e i missili.

Trovare un Daikengo Buildplan DX completo di scatola originale, istruzioni e polistiroli è oggi il traguardo più ambìto per chi colleziona Chogokin e robot d’epoca. DAIKENGO -26 PUNTATE – 1978
La storia ha inizio sul pianeta Emperius, attaccato dalle truppe del pianeta Magellano. Per fronteggiarne l’avanzata, il principe ereditario di Emperius, Samson, affronta le milizie nemiche su un pianeta vicino, rimanendo però ucciso per mano del generale dell’esercito dei magellani, Roboleon. Il re di Emperius, Empel, caduto Samson, suo primogenito ed erede, nonché ultimo baluardo contro l’avanzata nemica, decide allora di risvegliare il dio-demone cosmico Daikengo. Questo robot gigante torna attivo ogni 950 anni al passaggio di una particolare cometa, la “Stella del guardiano”, che lo colpisce con le sue radiazioni. Il re, rimasto senza erede, deve quindi scegliere fra i due figli che gli sono rimasti, Yuga e Ryger, a chi affidare il comando di Daikengo. La scelta cade su Yuga, giacché l’altro sarà destinato a succedergli nel trono di Emperius. Ryger, però, vedendo il fratello minore intimorito da tale prospettiva, sale di nascosto su Daikengo e, raggiunto da Cleo (la bella e ribelle figlia del primo ministro), Otoke e Anike (un robot meccanico e uno pilota), parte alla volta dello spazio infinito con l’intento di combattere e sconfiggere una volta per tutte i magellani. In seguito ci sarà lo scontro finale tra Daikengo e Magellano il grande, che verrà ucciso dopo una breve lotta grazie alle “spade incrociate”. Sconfitti i nemici, Ryger, Cleo, Bryman e Yuga fanno ritorno a Emperius, dove Ryger erediterà il trono. Questo destino non è, però, gradito al principe, che decide di lasciare il trono a Yuga e di ripartire con Cleo a bordo di Daikengo verso lo spazio infinito.

Linea di giocattoli diecast realizzata da Takatoku. Robot molto bello e ricercato, sopratutto la versione Deluxe in scatola singola è molto rara e molto costosa che supera spesso i 2.000 euro se è completo e non giocato.

Daikengo Takatoku: The Ultimate Space Guardian Guide

The Daikengo Takatoku (宇宙魔神ダイケンゴー) stands as a holy grail for Vintage Japanese Robot collectors. Produced in 1978 by Toei Animation, the series is world-renowned for its unique mechanical design, featuring a giant robot capable of splitting into three legendary vehicles: the Daiken Combat Ship, the Daiken Buggy, and the Daiken Caterpillar.

In the world of high-end diecast collecting, the Daikengo license is inextricably linked to Takatoku Toys. The prestigious Z-Character line offered two essential versions: the solid ST (Standard) model and the legendary Buildplan DX. The DX version is a 1970s engineering masterpiece, being the only one capable of full transformation and featuring iconic accessories like the twin swords and signature missiles.

Acquiring a Daikengo Buildplan DX in Mint in Box (MIB) condition, complete with original styrofoam and instructions, is the ultimate goal for Chogokin enthusiasts. The story begins on the planet Emperius, attacked by troops from the planet Magellan. To face their advance, the crown prince of Emperius, Samson, faces enemy militias on a nearby planet, but is killed at the hands of the general of the Magellan army, Roboleon. The king of Emperius, Empel, having fallen Samson, his firstborn and heir, as well as the last bastion against the enemy advance, then decides to awaken the cosmic demon-god Daikengo. This giant robot becomes active again every 950 years when a particular comet, the “Guardian Star”, passes by, hitting it with its radiation. The king, left without an heir, must therefore choose between his two remaining sons, Yuga and Ryger, who to entrust the command of Daikengo to. The choice falls on Yuga, since the other will be destined to succeed him on the throne of Emperius. Ryger, however, seeing his younger brother intimidated by this prospect, secretly climbs onto Daikengo and, joined by Cleo (the beautiful and rebellious daughter of the prime minister), Otoke and Anike (a mechanical robot and a pilot), sets off towards the infinite space with the intent to fight and defeat the Magellans once and for all. Afterwards there will be the final battle between Daikengo and Magellan the Great, who will be killed after a short fight thanks to the “crossed swords”. Once the enemies have been defeated, Ryger, Cleo, Bryman and Yuga return to Emperius, where Ryger will inherit the throne. This fate, however, is not pleasing to the prince, who decides to leave the throne to Yuga and leave with Cleo aboard Daikengo towards infinite space.

Diecast toy line made by Takatoku. Very beautiful and refined robot, especially the Deluxe version in single box is very rare and very expensive which often exceeds 2,000 euros if it is complete and unplayed.
