Astro Boy (Tetsuwan Atom): Il Bambino Robot
Tetsuwan Atom, conosciuto in Occidente come Astro Boy, è una delle opere più celebri del “dio del manga” Osamu Tezuka. La storia segue le avventure di Atom, un potentissimo bambino robot dai sentimenti umani, creato dal Dr. Tenma per sostituire il figlio Tobio, morto tragicamente in un incidente stradale. Quando Tenma si rende conto che il robot non potrà mai crescere come un vero essere umano, lo vende a un circo, da cui verrà poi salvato dal benevolo Dr. Ochanomizu. Astro Boy diventa così un difensore della giustizia e della pace, utilizzando i suoi straordinari poteri (tra cui la capacità di volare e una forza sovrumana) per proteggere la Terra da scienziati pazzi, robot malvagi e minacce aliene.
Il merchandising Diecast della serie occupa un posto speciale nel collezionismo vintage, in particolare all’interno della linea POPY Meisaku Serie (Serie Capolavori). Si tratta di una collezione commemorativa di 13 modelli dedicata ai personaggi che hanno segnato la storia dell’animazione giapponese. Il modello di punta è il GA-62, una magnifica riproduzione in metallo che cattura perfettamente il design classico di Atom. Realizzato con materiali di alta qualità e finiture fedeli all’opera originale, il GA-62 è considerato un pezzo fondamentale per ogni appassionato di Chogokin, celebrando degnamente il robot che ha dato il via all’era moderna dei mecha e dell’animazione nipponica.

Il protagonista, Atom (Astro Boy/Astroboy in Occidente), nacque su Atom Taishi (lett. “Atom l’ambasciatore”), un’opera precedente di Tezuka. Atom non va confuso con Capitan Jet (ジェッターマルス Jetter Mars), personaggio molto simile ad Atom e titolare di una propria serie animata, che Tezuka sviluppò in epoca molto posteriore, rimaneggiando superficialmente le fattezze, le caratteristiche e i poteri di Atom/Astro Boy, nonché alcuni personaggi comprimari.Astro Boy è un bambino robot dai sentimenti umani, creato dal dottor Tenma con le sembianze del proprio figlio, morto poco prima in un incidente. Ha una famiglia di robot, frequenta la scuola come gli altri bambini e lotta contro molti nemici per difendere la Terra. |

Unmataro Tenma
Ex capo del ministero della scienza. Dopo aver perduto il suo unico figlio in un incidente stradale, sopraffatto dal dolore, si ripromise i creare un potente robot ed utilizza a tal fine tutte le risorse disponibili del ministero. Astro sarà la sua più grande creazione; una volta attivatolo, rimase però presto frustrato vedendo che il piccolo non cresceva fisicamente come tutti gli altri bambini umani; dopo aver venduto Astro al proprietario di un circo, si dimise da ministero e scomparve
Ochanomizu
Succede a Tenma alla guida del ministero della scienza dopo questo si dimise. Figura paterna e mentore di Astro, ha creato per lui un’intera famiglia di robot (madre, padre e sorella)
Uran
Sorella-robot di Astro, viene a lui consegnata come regalo in occasione del suo compleanno. Solitamente si comporta come un vero e proprio maschiaccio.
Super Robot 28: The Return of the Giant
Super Robot 28 (Shin Tetsujin 28-go) is the 1980 anime series, a remake of the black-and-white 1960s classic. Set in the near future, the plot follows young Shotaro Kaneda, son of Dr. Kaneda, who inherits control of Tetsujin 28, a colossal robot originally built as a super weapon and now used for justice. Alongside Inspector Ootsuka and Professor Shikishima, Shotaro fights against criminal organizations and extraterrestrial threats. In this version, Tetsujin’s design was completely modernized, appearing much sleeker and more agile than its stocky 1960s predecessor.
The Diecast merchandising for the series was produced by the POPY company and features some of the most iconic pieces of Chogokin production. The main models include the ST version (GB-23) and the DX version (GB-24). A unique piece in collecting history is the majestic SG-01, a 40 cm tall model made almost entirely of metal; it was intended to be the first of a new series (SG), but extremely high production costs made it an isolated case. The same robot was later distributed in the Godaikin line with slightly different colors. Another essential accessory is the Clipper (PC-10), the vehicle used by Shotaro to pilot the robot.

Astro will be his greatest creation; once activated, however, he soon became frustrated seeing that the little boy did not grow physically like all the other human children; after selling Astro to the owner of a circus, he resigned from the ministry and disappeared
Ochanomizu
He succeeds Tenma as head of the Ministry of Science after which he resigned. Astro’s father figure and mentor, he created for him an entire family of robots (mother, father and sister)
Uran
Astro’s robot sister, given to him as a birthday present. She usually acts like a real tomboy.
