Machine Hayabusa: La Corsa verso la Vittoria
Conosciuto in Italia come Falco il superbolide, questa serie anime del 1976 prodotta dalla Toei Animation segue le gesta di Ken Hayabusa, un talentuoso pilota che corre per la scuderia Sayongi. Alla guida della Hayabusa Special, progettata da suo padre, Ken partecipa a estenuanti gare che fondono rally ed endurance, sfidando la spietata scuderia Black Shadow guidata dal misterioso Ayab. La serie è celebre per i motori intercambiabili della macchina protagonista e per le scorrettezze estreme dei rivali, che Ken deve superare grazie a coraggio e abilità tecnica per trionfare come vincitore assoluto.
L’archivio di Robot Vintage esplora l’iconica linea di merchandising diecast prodotta da Popy. La collezione comprende riproduzioni dettagliate di tutti i veicoli della serie, inclusa la celebre Hayabusa PA-87, la robusta Gantetsu PA-88, la volante Kamikaze PA-89, la perforante Yamato PA-90 e la rarissima e costosissima Mitsu PA-91. Di particolare rilievo è anche il Big Garry PA-92, il van di trasporto capace di trasformarsi e volare. Questi modelli sono oggi tra i più ricercati dai collezionisti per la qualità delle finiture e per l’importanza storica del design meccanico di Mikiya Mochizuki.

Falco il superbolide è una serie televisiva anime, di genere automobilistico, composta da 21 episodi prodotti dalla Toei Animation nel 1976, ideata da Mikiya Mochizuki e diretta da Yugo Serikawa. In Italia è stata trasmessa da alcune reti private locali agli inizi degli anni ottanta.Ken Hayabusa è un pilota da corsa, figlio dell’Ingegner Hayabusa, progettista della macchina da corsa Hayabusa Special e dei suoi motori intercambiabili. Ken corre per la scuderia Sayongi a bordo della macchina costruita dal padre e partecipa a corse miste tra il rally e l’endurance. I suoi più accaniti rivali sono gli appartenenti alla scuderia Black Shadow (“ombra nera”) e soprattutto il suo proprietario e “patron”, il misterioso Ayab Mobil Dick: durante lo svolgimento delle gare i piloti della Black Shadow tentano con tutti i mezzi che hanno a disposizione, uno più scorretto dell’altro, di eliminare Ken e i suoi compagni di scuderia. Alla fine Ken riuscirà a battere definitivamente sia Ayab che la Black Shadow per risultare così il vincitore assoluto. |

Ken Hayabusa
18 anni, pilota della macchina numero 1. Il suo nome, Hayabusa, in giapponese significa falco pellegrino, il volatile fra tutti più veloce; il padre è morto accidentalmente durante lo sviluppo del motore V3, mentre il fratello è a sua volta morto in un incidente provocato da Ayab durante una gara.
Kamikaze Hiroshi
17 anni. Pilota della macchina numero 4; quella di colore verde. La sua è l’unica vettura che può librarsi in aria per un breve periodo di tempo: ha giurato alla madre di diventare campione, perciò non tornerà a casa fino a quando non ci sarà riuscito
Iwata Tetsuji
20 anni. Pilota della macchina numero 3; è quella col telaio più robusto, che non teme neanche eventuali frane che gli possan cader addosso e sul cofano anteriore ha un becco che può spezzar le rocce. Il suo nome significa “uccello acquatico”: quando non corre spesso indossa un kimono, ha un padre esperto nelle arti marziali.
Mutzu
17 anni. Pilota della macchina numero 2; quella di colore blu.
Yamato
ex-pilota di caccia, è il più anziano del gruppo, di solito responsabile della manutenzione meccanica delle auto. Pilota della macchina numero 5; quella di colore arancione e dal design più realistico. Possiede tuttavia un trapano ospitato all’interno del cofano anteriore che gli consente di scavare nel sottosuolo.
Sakura
16 anni. L’unica donna del gruppo e sorella minore di Sayongi. Guiderà da un certo punto in poi un ibrido auto-aeroplano ausiliario che effettua rifornimenti aerei di carburante.

Known in Italy as Falco il superbolide, this 1976 anime series produced by Toei Animation follows the exploits of Ken Hayabusa, a talented driver racing for the Sayongi team. Behind the wheel of the Hayabusa Special, designed by his father, Ken participates in grueling races that blend rally and endurance, challenging the ruthless Black Shadow team led by the mysterious Ayab. The series is famous for the interchangeable engines of the protagonist’s car and the extreme foul play of the rivals, which Ken must overcome with courage and technical skill to emerge as the overall winner.
The Robot Vintage archive explores the iconic diecast merchandising line produced by Popy. The collection includes detailed reproductions of all the vehicles from the series, including the famous Hayabusa PA-87, the sturdy Gantetsu PA-88, the hovering Kamikaze PA-89, the drilling Yamato PA-90, and the extremely rare and expensive Mitsu PA-91. Of particular note is the Big Garry PA-92, the transport van capable of transforming and flying. Arrow Emblem is an anime television series, of the automotive genre, composed of 21 episodes produced by Toei Animation in 1976, created by Mikiya Mochizuki and directed by Yugo Serikawa. In Italy it was broadcast by some local private networks in the early eighties. Ken Hayabusa is a racing driver, son of Engineer Hayabusa, designer of the Hayabusa Special racing car and its interchangeable engines. Ken races for the Sayongi team aboard the car built by his father and participates in mixed races between rally and endurance. His most fierce rivals are the members of the Black Shadow team (“black shadow”) and above all its owner and “patron”, the mysterious Ayab Mobil Dick: during the races the Black Shadow drivers try with all the means at their disposal, one more unfair than the other, to eliminate Ken and his teammates. In the end, Ken will manage to definitively defeat both Ayab and the Black Shadow to become the overall winner. |

All the vehicles in the anime were made by Popy. Beautiful and detailed, they are all highly sought after, the rarest and most expensive is the Mitsu car.

Ken Hayabusa
18 years old, driver of car number 1. His name, Hayabusa, in Japanese means peregrine falcon, the fastest of all birds; his father died accidentally during the development of the V3 engine, while his brother died in an accident caused by Ayab during a race.
Kamikaze Hiroshi
17 years old. Driver of car number 4; the green one. His is the only car that can hover in the air for a short period of time: he swore to his mother that he would become champion, so he will not return home until he has succeeded
Iwata Tetsuji
20 years old. Driver of car number 3; it is the one with the sturdiest frame, which does not even fear any landslides that may fall on it and on the front hood it has a beak that can break rocks. Its name means “water bird”: when it is not racing it often wears a kimono, its father is an expert in martial arts.
Mutzu
17 years old. Driver of car number 2; the blue one.
Yamato
ex-fighter pilot, he is the oldest of the group, usually responsible for the mechanical maintenance of the cars. He drives car number 5; the orange one with the most realistic design. However, he has a drill housed inside the front hood that allows him to dig underground.
Sakura
16 years old. The only female in the group and Sayongi’s younger sister. She will later drive a hybrid car-airplane auxiliary that performs aerial refueling.
