Starzinger: Viaggio nel Cosmo
Science Fiction Saiyuki Starzinger è un anime di 73 episodi del 1978, basato su un manga di Leiji Matsumoto e prodotto dalla Toei Animation. La serie è una trasposizione fantascientifica del classico della letteratura cinese “Viaggio in Occidente”. La trama segue la Principessa Aurora e i suoi tre compagni cyborg — Jan Coogo, Sir Jogo e Don Hakka — nella loro missione verso il Grande Pianeta per ripristinare l’Energia Galattica, la cui diminuzione sta rendendo le forme di vita della galassia aggressive e sanguinarie.
Il merchandising Diecast della serie fu realizzato dalla ditta POPY. Sono stati riprodotti i personaggi principali (GA-86, GA-87, GA-88), i loro tre veicoli individuali (Star Crow, Star Cupper, Star Bud) e l’astronave madre Queen Cosmos. Sebbene i modelli siano generalmente considerati comuni, Jan Coogo e la Queen Cosmos (PB-49) sono i pezzi più rari e costosi della collezione. I modelli Popy di questa serie sono molto apprezzati dai collezionisti per l’ottima qualità realizzativa e la fedeltà al design originale di Matsumoto.

Science Fiction Saiyuki Starzinger è un anime di 73 episodi basato su un manga di Reiji Matsumoto e prodotto dalla Toei Animation. È stato trasmesso in Giappone tra il 1978 ed il 1979. È una trasposizione in chiave fantascientifica del classico della letteratura cinese Viaggio in Occidente. La storia ruota attorno alla Principessa della Luna, Aurora, e i suoi tre compagni cyborg: Coog, Hakka e Gorgo, che devono raggiungere il Grande Pianeta e ripristinare l’Energia Galattica, che si sta affievolendo a causa dell’anzianità della sua regina: in conseguenza di questo tutte le forme di vita di tutti i pianeti stanno diventando aggressive e sanguinarie, e la civiltà sta regredendo. |

Serie molto amata, i diritti per la produzione di modelli in metallo furono assegnati a Popy. Sono stati ri-prodotti i personaggi principali, i loro 3 veicoli , e l’astronave che li trasporta nello spazio. Molto belli e ben realizzati sono toys abbastanza comuni, i più rari e costosi sono Jan Coogo e la Queencosmos.

Originariamente un essere umano, ha trasformato il suo corpo in un cyborg per proteggere l’umanità, ma da allora gli sono sempre stati assegnati incarichi di poco conto e ha perciò sviluppato un’attitudine ribelle: per questo è stato imprigionato in una sfera di cristallo dalla dottoressa Kitty fino all’inizio dell’avventura, quando lo libera per servire la principessa Aurora. Viene indotto con un trucco a indossare una coroncina d’oro, che si rivela essere uno strumento attraverso il quale la principessa può controllarlo. La sua arma è un bastone allungabile, il Giavellotto Astrale, mentre il suo mezzo di trasporto è lo Star Crow: astronave di Jan Kugo, lunga circa 6 metri e pesante 950 chili. Può viaggiare ad ipervelocità con accelerazione atomica. E’ equipaggiata con due cannoni alle estremità noti come disintegratori. |

Un cyborg che Aurora e Coog incontrano strada facendo, abilissimo a combattere in acqua. La sua arma è un fucile-tridente, mentre il suo mezzo di trasporto è lo Star Copper: astronave di Sir Jogo, lunga 4,75 metri e pesante 1100 chili. Agile e veloce sott’acqua. Lo Star Cupper è equipaggiato con un periscopio molto utile quando l’astronave si trova sott’acqua. |

Un altro cyborg che si unisce al gruppo, di corporatura massiccia, e fortissimo nel combattimento corpo a corpo. Ha una catena e uno scudo che può sparare missili come armi, mentre il suo mezzo di trasporto è lo Star Bud.mica. E’ equipaggiata con due cannoni alle estremità noti come disintegratori. astronave di Don Hakka, lunga 4,5 metri e pesante 950 chili. E’ la più adatta a viaggiare nel sottosuolo, in quanto è munita di trivelle a punte retrattili nella parte anteriore. |

l’astronave costruita dalla Dottoressa Kitty per il lungo viaggio verso il Grande pianeta. E’ dotata di tre hangar per le astronavi dei cyborg. Lo Star Crow di Kugo è situato nell’hangar centrale, lo Star Bood di Hakka si trova in quello di destra, e lo Star Cupper di Jogo in quello di sinistra. La Queen Cosmos può viaggiare ad ipervelocità, ma questa particolare funzione viene usata solo in caso di pericolo imminente, in quanto a tale velocità il corpo umano di Aurora subirebbe gravi danni |

Principessa Aurora
Principessa-guerriera della Luna, ha perso il suo regno a causa della diminuzione dell’Energia Galattica, ed è stata scelta dalla dottoressa Kitty per ripristinarla, in quanto possiede gli stessi poteri della Regina del Grande Pianeta.
Dottoressa Kitty
geniale scienziata che aiuta i protagonisti durante il viaggio grazie alla sua abilità tecnica, pur essendo rimasta sulla Terra.
Professor Dogget
è al fianco della dottoressa Kitty ed è lui che ha trasformato Coog in un cyborg
Ghinghin
nemico della prima parte della storia (ep. 13-31), è un alieno dalle fattezze scimmiesche che insieme al fratello Kinkin ha colonizzato numerosi pianeti del sistema solare e schiavizzato gli abitanti. Si tratta di un essere estremamente spietato che non esita a compiere stragi per i suoi scopi. Viene sconfitto da Coog e Gorgo
Gyuma
nemico della seconda parte (ep. 33-56), è l’imperatore del sistema girara che comanda un vasto esercito, il suo scopo è di catturare la Principessa Aurora per sfruttare l’energia galattica.
Ghin Ghin
E’ uno dei primi veri nemici di Aurora e i suoi, dato che compare in una serie di puntate in cui la attacca con lo scopo di eliminarla per impedirle di compiere la sua missione..

Science Fiction Saiyuki Starzinger is a 73-episode anime from 1978, based on a manga by Leiji Matsumoto and produced by Toei Animation. The series is a sci-fi adaptation of the Chinese literary classic “Journey to the West.” The story follows Princess Aurora and her three cyborg companions — Jan Coogo, Sir Jogo, and Don Hakka — on their mission to the Great Planet to restore Galactic Energy, the depletion of which is causing life forms across the galaxy to become aggressive and bloodthirsty.
The Diecast merchandising for the series was produced by the POPY company. The main characters (GA-86, GA-87, GA-88), their three individual vehicles (Star Crow, Star Cupper, Star Bud), and the mothership Queen Cosmos were all released as diecast models. While the models are generally considered common, Jan Coogo and the Queen Cosmos (PB-49) stand out as the rarest and most expensive pieces in the collection. Popy models from this series are highly regarded by collectors for their excellent build quality and faithfulness to Matsumoto’s original designs.

The Diecast merchandising of the series was made by the POPY .
Much loved series, the rights to produce metal models were assigned to Popy. The main characters, their 3 vehicles, and the spaceship that transports them into space were re-produced. Very beautiful and well made, they are quite common toys, the rarest and most expensive are Jan Coogo and Queencosmos.

Originally a human, he transformed his body into a cyborg to protect humanity, but since then he has always been assigned lowly tasks and has therefore developed a rebellious attitude: for this reason he was imprisoned in a crystal ball by Dr. Kitty until the beginning of the adventure, when she frees him to serve Princess Aurora. He is tricked into wearing a golden crown, which turns out to be an instrument through which the princess can control him. His weapon is an extendable staff, the Astral Javelin, while his means of transportation is the Star Crow : Jan Kugo’s spaceship, about 6 meters long and weighing 950 kilos. It can travel at hypervelocity with atomic acceleration. It is equipped with two cannons at the ends known as disintegrators. |

A cyborg that Aurora and Coog meet along the way, very skilled at fighting in water. His weapon is a trident rifle, while his means of transportation is the Star Copper : Sir Jogo’s spaceship, 4.75 meters long and weighing 1100 kilos. Agile and fast underwater. The Star Cupper is equipped with a periscope very useful when the spaceship is underwater. |

Another cyborg who joins the group, with a massive build, and very strong in hand-to-hand combat. He has a chain and a shield that can shoot missiles as weapons, while his means of transportation is the Star Bud.mica. It is equipped with two cannons on the ends known as disintegrators . Don Hakka’s spaceship, 4.5 meters long and weighing 950 kilos. It is the most suitable for traveling underground, as it is equipped with retractable drills on the front. |

Principessa Aurora
Warrior Princess of the Moon, she lost her kingdom due to the decrease in Galactic Energy, and was chosen by Doctor Kitty to restore it, as she possesses the same powers as the Queen of the Great Planet.
Dottoressa Kitty
brilliant scientist who helps the protagonists during the journey thanks to her technical skills, despite having remained on Earth.
Professor Dogget
He is at Dr. Kitty’s side and he is the one who transformed Coog into a cyborg
Ghinghin
enemy of the first part of the story (ep. 13-31), is an alien with ape-like features who together with his brother Kinkin has colonized numerous planets in the solar system and enslaved the inhabitants. He is an extremely ruthless being who does not hesitate to commit massacres for his purposes. He is defeated by Coog and Gorgo
Gyuma
enemy of the second part (ep. 33-56), is the emperor of the Girara system who commands a vast army, his aim is to capture Princess Aurora to exploit the galactic energy.
Ghin Ghin
He is one of the first real enemies of Aurora and her friends, as he appears in a series of episodes in which he attacks her with the aim of eliminating her to prevent her from completing her mission.
